There is 0 evidence that you raid in any form of WoW.
Well that’s just not true, the dude has parses wdym
Ugh, I had Kea and not kae. Impressive parses tbf.
Just goes to show that parses aren’t a litmus test for intelligence.
Says the person who couldn’t figure out if I was an active player or not…
It is 100% the best option, and is, in fact, the entire point of MMOs. While they have solo elements, they are usually designed with group activities in mind for higher-end content, which is often better served by being part of a guild.
You’ve missed the plot of you think guilds aren’t most effective in MMO’s.
Thanks, man. I am incredibly humble after all.
I agree with you in the sense it’s the best for most players, myself included. It’s not a blanket fix for all.
Still ran with errant information lol
The real root of my post is more so the fact guilds typically aren’t flexible in players not committing time to the roster. If someone has an iffy schedule or doesn’t want to raid every time the group does it can be more of an issue than a solution.
I missed it originally but this is just a veiled gdkp whine thread
I believe that OP has likely been kicked in the head by a donkey
Awwh you’re back!
My guild has ~20 raids happening weekly and various times that you can sign up for via discord. The only part that may be considered inflexible is, that if you sign up for a raid you show up. This is completely reasonable in my opinion.
The PuG scene is fine, the people who aren’t enjoying it are the people not parsing well. Better to know up front than to get kicked after the first boss for low damage.
These guys could also join a guild or start their own group. If you are unwilling to learn your class, unwilling to improve, unwilling to join a guild, and unwilling to start your own PuG… Well… Then welcome to retail.
That just sounds like pugging with extra steps, lets be real.
Maybe so. But that’s the best thing about guilds. They’re all different.
Do you have to be in the guild to raid?
Like if I wanted to raid on my alt, without joining the guild, when I had time would you allow players to join your discord?
Point being, what separates the guild from the discord at that point? Couldn’t that raiding scene and discord still exist without the guild or members in it?
Put the tinfoil hat down before you hurt someone.
You do have to be in the guild to get into the discord.
However, pugging in your servers discord is easier than doing it in game.
It’s not. This is a community-centric game. You should join a guild. If you want to play solo then go play retail. It’s like you retail babies thought SoD was gonna be retail lite. That was never the case.
So you feel this is better for an MMO?
I’m not going to read 300+ comments to get caught up, but based on the OP it seems like their argument is that they want all of the benefits of a robust community without doing any of the necessary work to create a robust community.
They want a guaranteed group without having to make any commitments to scheduled runs and think that it’s realistic to expect certainty of a group without offering anyone else certainty on when they will be available and willing to run the content.
I don’t think it’s the devs who are tone-deaf. If you want to play uncommitted, that’s fine. The trade off is that your access to the raid content will (and should be) sporadic and inconsistent.
TLDR; Just joining a guild is not the best option for an mmo. The community should thrive even outside of the small internal cliques.
If there is anything that indicates you are completely out of touch, it’s this right here.
