Holy crap the “classic” version of this game is still a grind complicated waste of effort.
I dont even know where to begin and the first thing my guild tells me to do is farm the “Reals”
Then buy gear in BB…
nvm. ill just log and wait for Pandaria…this crap is to complicated now…

It’s not that bad once you get into it though. I have 3 alts that are fully naxxed geared with very little effort.
What I would suggest is to get the new crafts from SE. They’re the same ilvl as naxx gear even though they’re blue and also count as sanctified (which you need to do naxx), and are required to be traded in for t3.5.
Do the SE weekly by trading in bracers (10-20g on AH), that’ll get you a free piece of t3.5 every 3 weeks.
Once you have 6-8 pieces of sanctified gear, you can easily get into naxx groups and go from there.
It’s worth mentioning that naxx is SIGNIFICANTLY easier than the new raid, and the new raid gear is not that much better than naxx.
Don’t focus too much on anything else tbh, it’s not worth burning yourself out. Your main goal should be doing a weekly naxx for easy op gear.
Also I would only farm reals for maybe getting the 4 pieces of t2 at most.
I mean what did you expect joining a server that is over a year advanced? stuff handed to you? I dont think there is a version other then classic where its hard to gear up so you can catch up.
Grats on 60… the game begins now. Go join Nightmare Dragons pugs, AQ20, ZG, MC/BWL all of which are ran by decked out people for reals and for those pieces of gear they are missing. You can get carried too… there are a bunch of videos on what to do to gear up once you hit 60.
No gold? find out what is selling at the AH and go farm it. I think runecloth and thorium is a high demand.
This too, extremely faceroll raids that don’t take long.
I would ignore MC/BWL unless you need the reals desperately, that’s just from the perspective of not burning yourself out running like 7 raids per week.
I wouldnt… you can get free gear from them and use the reals on the boxes so you can make some gold off em. Burn out? he just hit 60 and now the fun part begins gearing up.
I would go insane if I ran BWL, MC, AQ20, ZG, nightmare dragons, naxx, etc. all in one week imo.
I’m very lazy and like doing the bare minimum so I’m mainly speaking from that perspective.
He could essentially skip all this by just getting blue SE gear crafts and doing just naxx/nightmare dragons.
Do what every other rat newbie does.
Form your own raid and HR anything you want.

how is he getting 2k+ gold as a fresh player? I would save up for my mount first.

This is true. At least they’re dropping in price now though so he could start with the cheaper crafts.
He’s also a hunter though, can’t they solo farm orbs in strat?
But yeah great that you have fun running the old raids, I hate it though haha xd My approach is the laziest one with minimal raiding other than naxx and nightmare drags.
Also @OP worth mentioning that you could host nightmare dragons as a newbie and just reserve a piece of tier, most people are ok with 1 HR. It’s a 15min raid with 4 bosses and tons of loot/tier.
