for real, I need another 14 years before I want to do that 60 grind again
Lets be honest classic servers are for 12 yr olds people that cant progress past lfr skill level in retail and streamers for like the 1st few months they can get views for it plain and simple lmao
Don’t blame Blizz. That move will belong to Microsoft.
I mean both the people who would rather play cata over tbc will be sad. But they made the right choice.
if you’re not having fun in Firelands, then playing classic re-launch sounds like it would be the best thing for your guild. Doesn’t have to be a bad thing
Maybe you are setting your expectations for classic too unrealistic. there is no separate subscription for classic. it is included in the warcraft subscription. They look to be trying to provide gaming options to warcraft gamers, as many as there are, and i don’t think they plan to completely turn around development to gaming options.
In another way, I think they want to put the development into classic, to its fullest. you just need to remember that blizzard is a lone company in a sea of game companies. there are limitations to the time and resources they can put in, with only so many hours in a real day.
Cata is retail lite. Vanilla/TBC is the best time in wow history. If you like cata, retail is good enough. The people who want vanilla/tbc quit and that is why they are doing this. Maybe your guild might collapse but, you can definitely still play cata if you want to.
Vanilla was the worst. It was great for it’s time but if it were released today wow would have failed as a game. It only worked as classic due to nostalgia and even then only had less than a tenth of the players it had.
UPDATE: I took a poll and there are FAR fewer ppl who are going to jump ship to Classic Classic, than I expected. We might even be doing FL 25’s next week! Spiral of depression averted lol
era servers will die within a month when people realize it’s the same regurgitated content. Firelands will do fine but a lot of people will quit during DS when they’ve cleared it. I always found it useless to continue the last tier of content after you’ve cleared it on whatever difficulty you’re doing. Like you’re not going to get better gear for the next expansion because as soon as you hit those new zones you’re met with green quest gear with the same ilvl or better.
Speaking as someone who has played every expansion, your “nostalgia” only perception is wrong. Perhaps that is your singular opinion but, as far as it being fact? Definitely not.
With respect toward your personal way of playing games, I think you’re forgetting that a lot of ppl play MMO’s, especially classic, bc of the hope of community. We aren’t just here to clear content. This is our “video game home” and it’s about a lot more than just getting the gear and then moving on to something else.
Almost everything posted here is someone’s singular opinion. You decided to post your singular opinion that vanilla/bc was the best. I responded with my singular opinion that vanilla sucked. All singular opinions are equal here.
Former long-term guild leader, here.
I’m starting to think the guild model is an outdated relic from a time when more gamers wanted lasting friendship. Now, interactions are much more episodic and sporadic. I think communities might be a good substitute, especially if they were usable between server types.
What a weird conclusion, classic is progressing through at least MoP at this point.
i dont really agree with that anymore. Almost every guild i’ve been in has players quitting after it’s cleared. theres more interesting stuff to do.
I think this is all a ploy of the Classic Team to keep their jobs by making it look (to Microsoft) like they aren’t ‘redundant personnel’.
If a video game is making you “ultra depressed”, I think you may want to consider taking a break.
People are acting like FRESH is going to be the best thing ever. RMT is going to have those realms botted in the first couple days. The economy will be trashed in a week or two.
