I agree. If anything, I think it would be nice to see why I was kicked. If you initiate a kick, you usually have to select or type why in a window. The person who gets kicked should be able to see this after the fact, for situations like this.
Itâs amazing how every time one of these threads pop up people genuinely think its okay that you can be removed from a group for something as innocuous as having a bad xmog.
Anyone could type in âabcâ as the reason, if the required number of players agree to the kick, it goes through.
Luckily I donât have to explain to you as it seems you already get it
Like you said, policing whether a reason is valid or invalid before assigning a debuff would be a mess, so everyone gets a debuff
Dont even look into it or dread it. F those guys. And F anyone who kicks people in LFR/LFG for no valid reason. I legit wont accept it without knowing what the person did first.
But people just mindlessly click it and kick innocent people cause, Some people just wanna see the world burn.
Itâs baffling to me.
Some people also shrug off a 30 minute debuff as if itâs nothing. Thatâs a good chunk of time for me these days.
Which is where we disagree.
I could hop into Timewalkings with two friends and we could just start kicking people for jollies. These poor souls who are just trying to level their alts will not only get removed, but also a 30-minute ban from the queued content.
Yet people like yourself think this type of thing is ok, and that itâs perfectly fine to let trolls wield this sort of power.
Shameful.
Laughs in Lone Wolf MM
There is a macro for this kinda thing, to just disband the entire group. I would be in a world boss group sometimes and nearly as soon as it was down, I would be removed from the group along with lines of other players âleavingâ at the exact same time.
I saw a real doozy of a kick in a random baron side strat run the other day. Our tank had somehow managed to lock himself in the gate where the undead adds come streaming out right before the last boss. He commented on it and next thing I know, a vote kick comes up with the reason âafkâ. I clicked no but it passed. They didnât even put us back in queue for another tank, the ret pulled Baron, we killed him and everyone left.
That was just mean
If one of the two who isnât grouped with you guys keeps voting yes, but eventually youâll be unable to initiate a kick because thereâs already limitations on how frequently you can do so.
I think itâs disgusting behavior for you to do and I donât do it myself, but the solutions coming from you and people like you leave the door open for things to be even worse for more people, which is why the system is the way it is in the first place.
Itâs not hard.
Remove the 30-minute deserter debuff for kicks.
âBuT THiS Tank HolDs me HOSTAGE!â
Cool, kick them then. Thereâs already a 15-minute CD for dungeon queues. Let them get kicked and wait for the CD to expire. An additional 30-minute debuff is entirely unnecessary and very, very heavy-handed.
Especially if itâs the first time being kicked. No warning, no nothing.
Buddy, this is how it used to be. For a matter of months. Then it was added as a solution to a much bigger problem than whatever you think is happening now.
Itâs been this way for 15 years now because itâs better than things were during the few months it wasnât in the game.
Please understand that.
The solution youâre asking for has been tried before and resulted in more problems.
Thatâs why itâs this way now.
Do you get it yet?
Where they a guild group?
If youâre getting kicked often enough that the deserter debuff is causing significant problems in your life, that deserter debuff is working as intended and you need to figure out what it is about you that keeps getting you kicked.
Who cares? Horse and buggies, walking uphill to school both ways, yada yada.
Yeah, and? Warbands werenât a thing for about 20 years. Does that mean they shouldnât have ever existed?
Debuff-on-kick is a lazy tonedeaf âsolutionâ to a âproblemâ that already has a system in place (the 15-minute dungeon CD).
But I can tell based on your words that you donât care to improve things. Rather, you want things to stay the same because âitâs been this way for 15 years.â
This would be true if there was an escalation method like league of legends where the timer gets worse the more you leave. That isnât the case here.
And to try to argue against solutions to the vote-kick abuse is just ridiculous.
You are not so emotionally fragile that not doing a dungeon for 30 minutes will ruin your day.
Itâs not ridiculous when your âsolutionâ is how it was before they needed to change it because it was causing even more problems than your problem is now. How do you not get that? Youâre not proposing a fresh new idea worth considering, youâre proposing something thatâs been tried before and failed.
It definitely killed my mood to do any random dungeons, and I think itâs wrong for this type of vote-kick abuse to exist as I donât want others to potentially experience that as well. 30 minutes is a lot of time - narcissists might disagree.
Thereâs been a handful of worthy solutions presented and talked about, which have not been âtriedâ and âfailedâ in the past. Even so, your argument premise of âitâs been this way therefore it shouldnât be changedâ is just weak.
People dont need GOOD reasons to kick. I got kicked because I called out a DPS specced Tank and his buddy got mad.
They will kick you just because they donât like your character.
Just get a thicker skin, requeue and move on. Youâll be happier in the end.
