Just Fired 3 Lead Devs

Two execs, three senior developers… Assuming another of the Does 1 through 10 named as defendants called out in the DFEH suit is Afrasiabi, my guess is we now know the names of five more problematic perps.

The sad thing is that Activision Blizzard knew about this, condoned it, and generally ignored it, until the State of California said, “no, there are laws here, and we’ll see you in court.” And that was after fruitlessly pursuing non-litigous, cooperative compliance through mediation, conferences, etc. at the state’s expense.

I just spent the afternoon actually reading the DFEH filing, after happening to read a different publisher/industry titan’s 2019 report on progress made toward more equal employment and compensation, and the contrast between the two was stark.

It’s been no secret that this is an issue in the industry. It’s also no secret which companies are actually trying and evaluating strategies for positive change, and which just hire law firms for performative consultations with no follow-through.

Who is Bain?

Alex is already named in the suit. The “DOES” were placeholders for people whose names would come up later in the investigation.

You act
Like everyone has perfect knowledge of
All
Things.

You act like you have no knowledge about any of this. Care to point out where we differ specifically?

Yea but male employees cant sue and win sounds like a win win to me morality is a non factor for me.

Being harassed is grounds for a lawsuit whether based on gender or not.

No one played anything except hammerdin.

Don’t forget the 15 new reps and 27 new currencies.

Look at Shadowlands. It’s not like “performance” is very high anyway.

hammerdin was a nobrainer if you had enigma. no downside nothing imune to it and hits extra hard, pierces by default…

it’s like… why would i play something else…

I played the heck out of zealadin and telemancers

In the perfect world. But can you win

They werent on that part bruh. They were on different projects. That Ls all Ian and the staff thats all still employeed.

I’m not going back to the game until Ion is fired or forced to step down

Anyone that says “we can look at the numbers to see if your happy” dose not deserve to be a game developer.

Oh I know there were other options. Just hammerdin having no weakness was a huge driver. I was playing a trap assassin, and let me tell you, the bane of her existence was seeing anything immune to electricity.

Bobby and Fran trying to figure out how many people they have to fire before we forget about them and the employee demands.

you are a classy individual.

if you can’t tell, I was lying. you’re the exact opposite.

imagine not firing someone found guilty of sexual harassment of employees.
