I don’t raid Y- One way to grow old early, way too much stress*
I’ve always said the moment they remove mythic+, I’ll be gone. This game doesn’t have any other kind of engaging content as you can see Asmongold hardly plays WoW anymore.
Toxic players in all 3 pillars of endgame. Why only mention mythic+
Because how the system works. It is design more so than raiding to breed this type of players.
Well Asmongold doesn’t play WoW as much anymore, people have different tastes, and he cheats in mount competitions
tell me you’re bad without telling me you’re bad: so many people in this thread
My opinion is that mythic playstyle is fine but players are more frustrated than before with less engaging content overall so we seen a small uptick in toxicity and impatience. Stuck doing the same stuff over and over (which always existed in wow) yet they’ve done it with less finesse over the past few years. Lol
I totally meant to reply to the other person too I’m sorry.
And there’s this setting where you can display only character achievements to others, rather than showing account-wide achievements. Perhaps the OP has that option enabled.
timers in M+ are pretty generous, just not when in the 15-30 range, sounds like rather than push your own key you got in on a 15 and was blown away by the strict timer.
Smells like satire. That said, you don’t have to do it and the timer, unlike FFXIV, is irrelevant if you want it to be since even if it expires nothing happens. You’ll still get your loot (albeit the 2nd drop will be 3 ilvls less) and you’ll still get credit for the weekly vault.
But yes people like me aren’t going to give you much of a break if the key is low and we’re there for valor/items. You aren’t needed, whatever the role is, so you can take however much time you need to catch your breath and catch up. The entire point of the run is to go as quick and efficiently as possible and that’s what we’re gonna do.
Don’t bother taking mythic serious. Just pushing buttons at the end of the day. The idea of esport in this game has run its course. No one outside of WOW gives 2 cents. Button pushing with add ons telling folks what to do is not exciting. Small niche group of people enjoy mythic+.
People are more interested in selling titles and achievements then engaging with other players. Population continues to decline. The merger of alliance and horde is to little to late. Game is no longer a cool place to hang out. Just shiny trinkets and titles people are trying to sell for real money or gold.
That’s personally how I feel as well. To me it’s pretty much irrelevant, you just do what you would normally do in the situation anyway.
Tanks can be a little bit different going for bigger pulls if they are worried about the timer, but I just go with the flow.
The idea that I could go faster is kind of laughable in most cases, because typically players aren’t deliberately trying to go slow or kill mobs slower or anything lol.
Speed naturally increases as skill does.
Which the OP didn’t do as we were able to cross-check achievements and see this was posted on an alt.
I don’t pay attention but I do glance at it to get a sense of how we’re doing after killing a boss or something.
The only time I personally dont like the timer is when its obviously brow-beating the tank and they make larger pulls than they should, or forget certain mob mechanics in their rush to tunnel vision through to the end. They otherwise would have been great, but their eyes always on the timer causes them to make mistakes.
The pressure of the timer is too much for some people.
Of course, then we have people on the opposite end of the spectrum who become laser focused and carry the team on their back.
Youre spare parts bud
When I was first starting Mythics, I was terrified of the timer. I completely understand the OP’s point, and honestly, part of me wishes there was another option for Mythics without a timer (maybe make the mobs harder or something).
With that being said, after some practice, I now feel that the timer is more generous than I initially thought. For keys +2-5, it’s pretty easy to complete with a considerable amount of time to spare.
Hang in there OP! It gets easier, and a lot more fun! I might recommend finding a guild or some friends that you can run with, as that often lowers the stress levels 10-fold for me.
To be honest, the only thing that gets me is having to know when to time warp.
Fairly certain FFXIV has timers to make sure people aren’t afking in instances because it was a game made without WoW’s budget and with PS3 Support so they didn’t want to spend [tech-bullcrap] keeping 7,000 empty instances loaded.
I can’t think of any other reason to force people out of instances. And this is the game that has a limit on transmog collections and to some extent housing wards due to technical limitations so… not outside the realm of reality here. Point being - I don’t believe the timers in FFXIV are intended to be performance checks like they are in M+.
- You don’t have to beat the timer. You still get the loot, vault credit, and some amount of M+ rating for completing dungeons even if the timer is not met. “Failing” in M+ is like a quarter-step worse than succeeding. It’s silly, really.
- The timer is the only meaningful performance check in early-mid levels of M+. Dungeon bosses are fairly light on mechanics in most cases. Certainly not tough enough to be the gatekeepers of success or failure in a scaling system like this. If we ever want to see the timer go away, they’d have to design dungeons differently
lmao…calling shoe-horned diablo 3 crap “world renowned”
Mythic plus is basically speed runs after you know the dungeon.
Mythic 0s is the untimed mode. Although ideally you should know the dungeons to make speed runs easier.
It was offered to make dungeons have a increased difficulty and endgame.
You can not focus the time and learn the dungeons very early on such as lower keys or watching some videos for the baseline knowledge.
You are very much in a rush, and is sorta inspired by old dungeon heroic speed runs.
After doing the dungeons so much you want to speed run them which we used to do with tons of good gear. Its sort of how challenge mode and then mythic plus was made.
