Just delete balance druid

I bet a lot of classes and specs are tuned for end game and legendaries. I’m going to hold off judgement of classes until much later.

No it’s not.

Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s flawed.

The “nerf” wasn’t much of a nerf at all. We get way more AP from shootings stars now via solstice, plus SotF gives a ton more and it was to compensate for starsurge costing less to cast… but no one likes to talk about that.

Do you have a druid? How can you say that lol.

I mean I get that you guys don’t like the new eclipse system which is whatever. You’re entitled to an opinion and I don’t care; not like I designed it myself. But you can’t just claim that it’s broken or flawed because it’s not your cup of tea. As a casual m+ person (around 20 keys) and avid pvper (glad) I think it’s WAY more fun than bfa. Way more. I get you feel annoyed when you’re forced into solar eclipse during an aoe moment or trash pack but wrath in those instances is very strong, generates a ton of AP for starsurge casts and you are still casting starfall and maintaining dots. You have this preconceived notion that your aoe is suffering and it’s really not. Dot damage is the same. Starfall is the same. The difference is you’re losing out on splash damage but it’s not enough to worry about. 15s later and you’re back in it. Plus at the moment, if you’re using VoP and arcanic pulsar, you can essentially always be in the desired eclipse with how often those proc. In the slands release, arcanic pulsar returns as a legendary and you’ll be able to do the same almost.

Chill out.

Balance druid seems like its literally THE worst class in all of WoW in general

No, you don’t. You may want to actually play the spec. You have to alternate eclipses. If your last eclipse was solar, for example, you HAVE to enter lunar next. There is no control over this except by inserting a celestial alignment. It’s not like it takes very long with this spec to realize this.

If you want to go into Lunar eclipse first… like on an AOE pack, you cast two wraths first. If you want to to into solar eclipse first, you cast two starfire. You have complete control, just like I said. After that yes, they alternate, so in a sense we are both right.

And what if the fight lasts more than 15 seconds?

You are right only if the fight is incredibly short, everyone else here is right if the fight is of the length you’d get in an instance or a raid in PvP, or in anything other than open-world questing, really.

The worst part is a fire and forget ability doing most of our damage (starfall). We wanted it to be good, so that’s nice. But it’s just a joke having our two “nukes” we spend the majority of our time casting, doing 10% of our damage each.

Yay, I get to wrath for 12-15 seconds straight and do NO DAMAGE a bit faster - that’s our idea of a mini burst window.

Honestly, the dps for single target on wrath and starfire is about even. The bulk of your damage is going to come from starsurge and stafall anyway.

???

DH had roughly a third of the keybinds that my druid had in 8.3. In prepatch, we gained even more keybinds because of the affinity rework and changes to make more spells baseline. We’ll have even more in Shadowlands. I promise you, you’ll be hard pressed to beat the number of keybinds that druids have on any other class.

Balance is amazing right now , what the hell are people talking about…

It really isn’t. We have to waste eclipse uptime to dot during eclipses on AOE, because of the eclipse buff to starfall. It’s optimal, but it feels bad rather than dotting outside of eclipse and then entering it to “nuke” for the full duration.

We get to spend like half our eclipses “nuking” which mostly consists of casting our zero dmg fillers harder and faster.

If we get any extra astral during AOE we have to use it on a ST nuke as can only have one starfall up. We basically generate no extra AP on AOE.

Everything except starfall and starsurge just feels pathetic. Sunfire, moonfire, wrath and starfire all do like 10% of our damage in a dungeon. Starfall does 30-50% of our damage on AOE and is 1 button push every 10 seconds.

Our dots have almost no interaction with our class - there’s a dmg proc that’s hard DR’d, that’s it. No extra AP generated or any benefit to multidotting things other than it being SLIGHTLY more dps efficient.

We also have a strong 3min CD, which over the last couple of years has come to probably the worst thing that can be said about any class. In order to tune things like that, it means you have to mostly do bottom feeder dps the rest of the time. At this point, most people are sick of these CD windows where they do the majority of their damage. They’d be happy with less powerful shorter CD’s and baking more power back into dmg outside of CD’s.

Sunfire & Moonfire definitely does more than 10% of our dmg in a dungeon…

And actually our dots do provide extra AP since more dots = more shooting stars. Starfall will also extend the duration in SL…so there is interaction with the class.

Nevok, I just wanted to say your transmog is spectacular.

Shooting stars has massive diminishing returns. Basically - no. After 3-4 targets you aren’t getting any more procs.

Played properly sunfire will do right on 10% of your dps in a dungeon. Moonfire less.

If you count shooting stars, moonfire and sunfire - all together they’re about 25-28% of our dmg in a dungeon.

I may be a casual, but I’m starting to enjoy Balance. It’s very effective for questing and completing the Icecrown Argent Crusade dailies. It’s not perfect, but it is growing on me.

I’m supposed to ignore solar eclipse and cast starfire on aoe?

He never once said that. He’s advocated that sticking with your eclipse appropriate spells nets better returns.

Starfall on the other hand in AoE situations in Solar Eclipse for sure

No, you’re not. Cast the empowered spell at all times. It’s better for both st and aoe scenarios and higher mastery levels only ameliorate that fact.

And like Grizzle said above, starfall and starsurge are casted in aoe and st scenarios respectively because they’re empowered in either (and both) eclipse/s due to being astral damage. Of course you sometimes starsurge in aoe when sf is still going and you’ll be able to pool enough before it runs out, etc. Not getting too detailed here.

I didn’t think so but I’m sometimes easily confused.
