I pugged my way to KSM as Feral.
I needed a guild group to get a baseline level of IO, then got a key up to 14, at which point it was smooth sailing. (It was sooo much easier to get KSM in pugs than with guildies) Even having to do other people’s keys for the last 2 didn’t take too long, because at that point I had enough IO to get taken eventually anyway.

Same lol, but it wasn’t all that bad. I think when you get to the 14+ range that the groups are a lot more competent.
+14/+15 is the sweet spot because most people who don’t care or already have KSM just bang out 14s and 15s so it is pretty chill.
It’s better now than it was like a month ago.

That being said, frost is not mediocre. Anybody that actually knows about the current state of the various classes and specs would know that frost mages actually do high, consistent damage if they know what they are doing. Fire’s burst and DB are what makes it more valuable in extremely high keys is all.
Most people talking about the meta actually have no idea why it is meta or even what they’re talking about though. lol

Yeah, I played Frost DK through it and sure, there were some frustrating moments but it wasn’t as bad as the forums and reddit made it sound.
Barely any leavers at all and I usually did most damage every pull. People just like to use “I’m not meta” as a crutch to not try; sure it sucks that other specs are better but you can play just find or exceptionally well on any spec in the game.
Hard truth. That’s consistent with my experience when I did m+, which was, admittedly, in Legion.

Non-meta Drood tank here i got KSM a while ago and had no issue.

My hats off to you persevering in the world of Pugs. It’s really rough, especially if you play a non-meta melee spec (dont judge me lol).

Looking at it as a “she is calling us liars” misses the point entirely. You are taking a snippet of irrelevant information and crucifying the whole post. Your point might have some weight to it if she didn’t go into such detail explaining the situation clearly.
Out of curiosity, how many groups asked if you were balance or assumed you were balance after the run already started?
That’s at least every other group for me lol. I’m playing feral for the moment as well (got up to 3.5k io in BFA… could’ve went further but the team quit). Probably going to learn boomy just to avoid all the toxicity that comes with melee specs.

I’d take a frost or arcane mage over fire in M+ tbh.

I always put Feral in my notes.
Plus, most Fire Mages are spuds who can’t play the spec to the point where it’s actually OP.
People just look at the spec and think “OMG MDI and top parses on WCL!” when in reality the specs kinda eh if you’re not a god at it and the tank pulls like they’ve glass bones and paper skin.
Interesting… I’ve tried that once and got insta-declined. Even got some nasty messages from some elitists. But that was in BFA.
