love how the people saying.“im doing them solo” are all playing the same classes. mage, druid, death knight, warrior, hunter, and monk. notice how no priests or rogues for example are saying this. it’s because the class designs and delve designs does not allow for them to do them solo at tier 6 or higher. for some classes it’s not an option which to me is a problem that needs to be solved.
I dunno about everyone. I’ve only run delves solo. But I’ve only ran 1 dungeon with a group so far this expansion too. I’ve run dozens of follower dungeons and now that the ilvl for heroics and lfr are the same, there is no need for me to run heroics. I do delves pretty much every day though.
I’m doing them solo, add me to your list.
It is obvious the devs did not intend for it to be that way.
This is the design intention.
You want to play solo - go do it.
Dungeons, delves and even a story mode raid - your choice.
Stop complaining.
Great! Let’s make M+ soloable and see if you all of a sudden recognize an issue.
Delve sux lol this is the most horrible xpac ever
who cares what its called lol. delves is a great addition for solo and groups.
blizz has done that much right but the balancin is a nightmare
Delves need to be solo only, or they need to find a way to make the difficulty and time spent for groups equal with solo players. I imagine that’s nearly impossible to do. So it’s just going to be another group meta, defeating the point.
People can argue that that’s fine all they want, but it’s just going to diminish the player base. Lots of people came back here because delves offered a solo route to gearing.
If soloists are just getting lapped by groups still, then delves become as good of solo content as dungeons are. Sure, you can spend two hours soloing a dungeon, that doesn’t make it solo content.
It’s just more group content.
Even if solo was as easy as doing it in a group, I’d still prefer running Delves in a group.
Because this is a MMO and I actually WANT to play with friends. I enjoy WoW as a social activity. If I just wanted to play a game by myself, I’d pick one of the numerous single player games that are mostly all better than WoW (as games).
This argument always makes me laugh. People enjoy chatting in delves. It has an entire chat dedicated chat that’s always popping off. You can take items you got in delves and then put it in the auction house, where other players can buy it. As you walk by them doing emotes if you feel like and showing off silly toys together. And then going to do world content with them on the spot. And then after that you can queue for a battleground.
None of these things are offered in single player games. Just because an MMO has an optional meta route to gearing doesn’t mean it’s some kind of anti-MMO thing lol
And this game does need an optional meta solo route to gearing. So delves should be solo, exclusively.
That or add AI parties to M+
This is a false dichotomy. Players that want solo content are not going to always group because it’s easier. If a player only cares about having engaging content they can complete solo, IT DOESN’T MATTER how easy grouping to complete that content is. It has never been a true statement that all players will only care about getting their shinies in the most efficient way possible. Hence why we’ve seen so much frustration over how quickly groups pull normal and heroic dungeons going back to Dragonflight.
I don’t disagree with the assessment that solo shouldn’t be drastically harder. But realistically trying to accomplish that is nigh impossible. Without a significant homogenization of classes, there’s no way for a one-size-fits-all Brann that will make up the gaps from adding up to 4 other classes. Blizzard could keep ratcheting up the scaling, but who does that really benefit? The moment a 5-player delve is harder than a +7, there would be no value for a 5-player group to ever set foot in a delve because M+ would be strictly better. It really feels like you’re just looking for a vindictive design toward groups, which rarely works out well for a video game.
What does this even mean? What meta exists for solo play?
Delves do offer a solo route to gearing. I picked up 15 item level this week having run 3 M0, gotten zero items out of normal raid, and the rest delves. And I’ve run all but 1 delve solo.
This such a disingenuous take. No other solo content drops normal raid loot while also providing up to 3 options of heroic raid gear out of the great vault.
Do it with 4 geared players, its over in 10minutes.
None yet, besides questing and leveling, but we’re getting there. They should make delves solo exclusive, or add AI parties M+
I mean they’re geared fine it’s just when we play we tend to eff around. Just would rather not risk wasting keys and maps for the eff around.
I’ve done 31 delves and none of them in a group of five.
I don’t text chat in WoW, because I’m not idly standing around in Delves or dungeons. This isn’t 2004. Instead, I am in a Discord server with people who voice chat and we talk while we play.
It does not. I don’t object to content that can be done solo as long as that content is available to groups, too. Stop trying to turn this game into a single player game.
Delves also demonstrate that many of the so-called “casuals” and “solo players” don’t actually want a challenge. They want heroic track gear (or better yet: mythic track gear), but they don’t want to put effort into earning it. T8s were not ANYWHERE on the same difficulty level as +7s or the heroic raid bosses, and now that they are actually challenging, people complain about them being too hard.
It was 100% predictable and of course Blizzard will listen and by doing so de-value loot from sources that require a basic amount of skill and effort.
Look at the bright side: As long as there is a group option, you can buy a WoW Token and purchase all the cosmetics and achievements, so be careful what you wish for.
Because 957463536 topics on delves wasn’t enough.
That’s not my question. If your intention is to play delves solo, what does it matter what the technically best spec is for running delves? Nobody is declining you from the group. Nobody is harassing you for performing poorly. Nobody is avoiding your group if you are playing the wrong spec. You literally just fly the delve and run it at your leisure.
Yes, all specs should be able to solo delves, which may not be the case today. And that should be fixed if it is the case, when considering we’re still not even a week into delves higher than 3 being available. Delves are intended to be a seasonal progression avenue for solo players, not something that is over in 6 days. If come November, all specs can’t solo an 8 then there’s an issue.
Same here. It’s peaceful even though it takes a lot longer.
