Actually, I’d agree that some of these quests can be problematic. I’ve been working on them intermittently over the years because I like achievements and what happens in many cases, with expansion transitions, is previous quests can become either stupid easy or stupid hard, depending on how they are impacted by scaling. Since it’s old content, no one expects them to go back and fix it. You can see it over the years in Wowhead posts of things being easy or hard or downright impossible, depending on which expansion we are in.
I was thrilled about this Meta because I had nearly all of it already done but even I was worried about some of the Island PVP stuff and that stupid horse jumping thing because I STILL haven’t conquered that one yet……still trying.
I’m glad they made some things a little easier for the meta so everyone has a chance for Jani, but some of the original stuff was a lot of time and frustration spent. I’m glad I got it all done.
Lots of things in this game can be hair pulling frustrating and I sympathize with people struggling, because I struggle ALL THE TIME and I’ve gotten good advice from the forums on many occasions.
I think (for whatever that is worth), these quests are frustrating right now for many people.
The main issue with the hand WQ is that it’s harder to hold aggro now that players are level 80. This WQ was the easiest of the 3 btw when BFA was current, but that is not the case anymore. Can it be done now? yeah but it’s very hard thing to do like super hard. The other two achievements don’t fair any better. If I get them done great, if not this is what to expect from now on. It is what it is.
I made a huge number of attempts in BFA, but for one reason or another could never quite time/path it right.
I made two attempts last night while a small group of monks with ox statues were generously gathering up mobs while a line of players formed to take their turn.
The first time my turn came up there was a slight communication mixup and while I went to one statue, the next person in line went to the other statue, leaving both of us with only half what we needed for the achievement, spoiling the attempt.
My second attempt on another character almost ended badly as well, with one of ox statues expiring just as I started my run, but the helpers rushed in, gathered all the mobs back up before they wandered too far and I got the achievement.
(Many thanks to all)
One last colour of mob to fish up from the sands and I’m done with the meta.
This is not a solution. Players should be able to do it on their own not hire/ask for help from others. If it comes to that I’ll hire 4 monks i guess. Way to go, thumbs up way up…
Nobody was “hired”. I was planning to try it alone using a route off a youtube walkthrough that I hadn’t attempted before, but since this is one the first times the WQ has come up since the meta was added, there were 20 or so other people there with the same plan I had. People spontaneously formed a strategy to share and help each other. A few people said they were being brought to (happy) tears seeing the community working together like this in this day and age. A good time was had by all.
Where are the good guys when you need em? I thought I had 5 attempts last night, turned out my alliance alt had all WQ’s unlocked except that one. Talk about bad luck. I tried to unlock the WQ but had no clue where to begin. Had to settle with 4 tries that failed miserably even though I saw many youtube strategies. This achievement and the other 2 like it are ultra tough.
Ok, so failed on Mage because stupid elemental popped. Got it on my other Hunter though. Just a few minutes waiting in line, a line that is getting longer by the second as people are being patient and waiting turns to get this achievement done!
The folks doing the pulling - this is what WoW is about! Right here!
While it’s nice that the community is coming together to help each other get the achievement, it only proves that there is an issue here. It shouldn’t come to that and a player solo should be able to do it without any issues. This only proves my point that these 3 achievements require attention and are problematic.
I keep saying it, due to players being level 80 it’s hard to group up 40 mobs and hold aggro. Back in the day when BFA was current this achievement was easy and didn’t need community’s help, but now it does.
the worst part of the bfa meta is puzzle performer and its rly not even close. ive been done with every other achievement for like 2 weeks, after spending 8-10 weeks completing them and i still am missing 1 last puzzle. its just pure RNG if the right one spawns or not
Super happy i did this and Mecha Done like 2 years ago or so to get the mounts. Almost no one was doing the quests so it was much easier for lots of parts, harder for others. Good luck though!
Decided to take my level 70 lock over there a few hours ago, there were a few of us who already had the achievement, we were gathering mobs and holding them, folks taking turns getting it.
Eventually we were all stood together with a massive bunch of mobs and nobody was coming … a good 10-15 minutes holding this pack, we eventually just killed them and left as we realized nobody was left to do it. It is Monday, mid morning/Afternoon.
Hopefully when this quest pops up again, the community is equally as giving, if I see it up, I’ll for sure heading over there on my level 70 to assist.
Key words “Back in BFA”. Well we are not in BFA right now, we are in TWW at level 80, and at level 80 it’s almost impossible to hold aggro 40 mobs then nuke them down. It just won’t work, that is the core issue.
Edit: I did some research and apparently these 3 achievements can only be done on horde side only. If you are an alliance player you have to have a horde alt for the meta “A Farewell to Arms” anyways. However, for the 3 achievements if you want more than one chance at it when they are up, have an army of horde alts you gonna need them. I failed on 4 tries already. Best of luck out there you gonna need it.
Since you play on an RP server, there are going to be fewer people around to help. This is good in the fact that you don’t have the competition for mobs, but less people just showing up to help as well. Maybe check the group finder and see if anyone has a premade group set up for gathering the mobs? Honestly, I got this done really easily 9 days ago when I realized I had the perfect toon for it, a monk. I immediately posted this strat to wowhead. At this point, leveling is so fast, I would suggest just to take a few days and level a monk lol. You don’t even need to get it to 80, mine is 72. Brewmaster Monks have an Ox statue that pulses threat for 15 minutes, does no damage, just holds them in place. Place the statue in the center and just run groups to it until you have enough, easy peasy.
Dog you for real? WTH is going on? level a monk for an achievement? Look for a group in lfg for an achievement that you can’t be in a group while doing? Some advice provided here I tell ya. Thanks a lot man.
