They had paragon levels, technically, in BFA and nobody liked it. Myself included.
If paragon levels were only for cosmetic and achievement based rewards I would maybe be for it. But if it advanced the power of your character it would make alts obsolete in PvP, raiding, and M+ because even the slightest advantage in the end-game is a huge edge.
