I agree with most of what the OP said.
Personally, just try to let it go. It is very irritating, but if Markers help others to help me finish the run, and we get things done, I silently suffer.
But if someone requests for it to be removed, then it should be.
Blizzard should create a toggle in our UI that lets us see Markers or not. That way, the Leader can put markers on you, so the raid can coordinate, and you won’t have to see the Marker over your head if it bothers you.
