Just a Few Lore Questions

  1. Do the Draenei have last names? Is there any standard that is used to establish familial bonds between them?

  2. If Geblin Mekkatorque was elected as King in a Gnome democratic system, why is he still serving well past his term? Was there a previous re-election that was not touched upon or was this simply forgotten by the developers?

  3. Where does the other door across from the Old Ironforge entrance within the throne room lead to?

  4. How exactly did Kel’Thuzad enter Maldraxxus?

According to a Kyrian daily quest involving the judgment of souls, it showed a Lich begging for release from his existence and yet being rejected because he was still bound to the world of the living. And since Kel’Thuzad’s phylactery was not found on his corpse upon his third death in Northrend Naxxramas, it doesn’t seem to make sense how he could have shown up in the Shadowlands when he still had an existing tether to Azeroth.

  1. Could the Ethereals and Brokers be the same species or offshoots from one on their original homeworld who followed different ideological paths?

Both seem to share the same mercantile culture as well as a fleshless form, or are their similarities simply a cosmic fluke?

It’s unclear but it’s possible that gnomes themselves forwent the election process and decided that he was their uncontested leader. Which would explain the no objections to him becoming King of Gnomes, regular and mecha, at the end of the mechagnome recruitment chain.

While it’s currently unknown the most likely theory is that just as the Val’kyr snag Sylvanas in Edge of Night, the Mawsworn could have easily snagged Kel’Thuzad after his defeat in Naxx and then the Jailer used them to slide the Archlich into Maldraxxus.

There is nothing to suggest that they are connected as a species, and I personally believe that they are not.

However with how we can never know where Blizzard takes the lore they could reveal, like the Nathrezim, a group of Brokers established themselves on K’aresh and over time become living mortals known as the Ethereals. Thus giving them that option.
