GW3 will do exactly what GW2 did, be niche and fill the long term void for the people who don’t wanna play WOW or FF14. It’ll find early success and fall off, but will probably have a very respectable playerbase. GW1 and 2 were both good games.
I just rotate.
When WoW gets boring, I play something else. Often it’s ESO or GW2 as those scratch itches that WoW doesn’t. Then if something new comes along in WoW that sounds interesting, I come back for a while.
Its nice to always be playing something with new fresh updates and not feel burned out or bored with one thing.
It’s exciting because both gw games are doing very well and the community is 100x better then wow
I liked Gw 1 a ton and didn’t hate gw2 but felt it was off.
For those gunning for this it is a pvp mmo first and a pve game second unlike wow. Might wanna see if you will enjoy it.
Who could possibly have anticipated this announcement?
What makes you say this? GW2 is definitely not focused more on PvP than PvE. It does have a focus on PvP for sure, but what you are saying is very misleading. There is a ton of PvE content and all PvP is optional.
Not really. It’s just as neglected there as it is here.
Speaking in terms of how enemies react and dungeons are handled. I like the game but a lot of people diving into are comparing it to final fantasy and its a lot different then that.
Huh? What does that have to do with pvp?
Yeah I get that feeling too
Okay well have fun. Cya.
It won’t kill WoW, as nothing will, but if it’s nonsub I’ll almost assuredly give it a try. Just how my brain processes price.
I hope they introduce cool ideas that WoW is forced to copy.
I’m not allowed to have the universe bending powers of timetravel… sooo many societies ruined…
I played the hell out of GW2. It’s good but not great. There were no dungeons or raids when I played. The classic Healer/Tank/DPS roles were all rolled into every class, no need for the trinity. It was not engaging at all.
Either Blizzard invests in WoW 2 or it will suffer at the hands of GW3
Thank you! I’m sure lots of people will have fun as well ![]()
I’d play ESO but my computer struggles with it. Also, I really don’t enjoy the 2 hour long updates. It’s like it has to patch and reinstall the entire game each time.
FF14 was meh. The minimap and overlay was just terrible. OSRS has a better map.
As for MMOs, yeah I have yet to play anything like WoW. The others either have a very distinctive Console Port feeling or they’re glorified browser games. Even D4 feels like a console port. However, an ARPG is a nice offset to MMOs. I think it’s a lot to ask anyone to play multiple MMOs.
Better to have like RTS, FPS, ARPG, or puzzle games

I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’ll kill the community, but it’ll certainly take a big chunk out of it.
I don’t play the retail version anymore myself—just Classic TBC (though I do like to hang out on the retail forums)—and I’ll definitely be playing GW3; I played GW2 a lot (even more than the retail version).
Well of course it is, they no longer have (You) as a subscriber!
