Judging before the verdict

They are ALLEGATIONS and not to be taken as fact. There is no evidence in their conclusion, only testimony.

Time is not a variant in order to defines actions.
“It happen X time therefore its truth” Thats not how ANYTHING works.

It’s embarrassing that there are actually opinions like this.

Trash people in the company were dreadful to other people. Company punished victims who tried to come forward. Company ignored complaints. Company put up a huge PR face being pro women/minorities while being investigated for being trash. Company quietly removed some trash people while being investigated before their actions came to light. Company releases word salad legal vomit when it turns out that they’ve been exposed.

And here you are defending them.

I am starting to think there needs to be a requirement in the US that you go to the local community college and take at least one criminal justice class.

Arguments like “ex-exmployer said therefore is truth” is more embarassing in my opinion.

No he is defending your due process rights.

Well you 2 keep defending blizzard I’m sure they’ll mention you in their memoires.

It’d be a miracle and a dream for a company to actually be held accountable for this kind of stuff, especially with clowns doing their best to protect them. Keep fighting that good fight

No he’s defending a company. This is not a person.

Supreme court disagrees

  • In practice, the Supreme Court has used the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment to guarantee some of the most fundamental rights and liberties we enjoy today. It protects individuals (or corporations) from infringement by the states as well as the federal government.

Im not defending blizzard. If they commited those actions she must answer for them.
if they didn’t commited those actions… blizzard must be indemnify by california.

What im saying is YOU CAN’T punish anyone before the verdict.
Those arguments like “you can’t give benefit of doubt” or “2 years investigation therefore its true” are garbage and could condem innocents. Thats what im saying…

While we shouldn’t pass judgment we can “punish” anyone we wish because of our freedoms. By that I mean we can punish them with our wallets and words.

Many of these cases are settled behind closed doors also so Lady justice doesn’t even get her day…

Yes, you can punish through your freedom. I agreed, also, the targets could be guilty or not.

I don’t even have a target currently? I have heard no names…

Why would you punish without passing judgement.

That’s like executing the general because some random soldier somewhere may or may not have gundecked a qual.

Truth… I made a factual claim none the less?

The amount of anti due process posters on these forums is insane.

That’s bull. Better access to information doesn’t make us omniscient nor does it stop us from hastily reaching false conclusions.

I don’t think the key issue here is whether or not the allegations are true. Especially after a two year investigation I expect that there is a fair degree of truth to them. That said, Blizzard still has the right to defend themselves and I think that calling for punishment before the verdict is premature. If we sacrifice justice for defendants we don’t like then we sacrifice it for all defendants and I don’t think that’s a road we want to go down.

Part of justice too, beyond just learning what is true and what isn’t, is determining who is responsible and to what extent. That is something that hasn’t been decided yet. I don’t think we should be aiming to burn everything Blizzard-related to the ground and take innocent people with us just to make sure our wrath is sated.

Let the justice system do its thing.

exactly.
IF blizzard were intelligent theyd have got this shut down ASAP.
EVEN IF they could win here the stigma of being accused doesnt go away these days and we all know it.
This just being main stream news now has put a taint on the entire company.
There are a list of names who have been CRUCIFIED for much less than what is being accused in this. The one politician is someone I detest as much as I can anyone, and they nailed him to the wall, ruined his career over a photo that he meant to just be funny.
Blizzard has to know this WiLL stick with them for a long time even if they do somehow worm out of it.
This is the last thing the company needs right now.
We ALL know the workplace ends up having some kind of sexual antics pretty much everywhere. Theres always that one guy who does it and gets away with it.
Better to just own up to it and get it in the past as quickly as possible.
The more they try to pretend it didnt happen…and the longer they fight admitting it, the worse impression this is going to leave on all of us.
