Glad to see they’re back at gamescom, and not just for selling merch. I live near Cologne, so maybe I’ll grab a ticket this year, now that Blizz is back.
That’s crazy. Honestly I thought task forces were such a cool concept. I kind of hate how limited and isolated the dungeon experience can be in WoW, often feeling disconnected from the wider world. That’s probably part of why Tazaveesh the mega dungeon resonates with me - it feels like a narrative unfolding with a party as we follow in the wake of Soleah. Sort of like a full adventure module. Wish WoW would do that more often.

TF’s worked in CoH because they generally involved running from instance to instance in the same zone mostly. Yes they were a lot of fun. But remember the CoH community was vastly better than WoW’s as well.
WoW doesn’t have enough instance places in one zone (as far as i know) to do something TF like.
A number of TFs had scripted ambushes in the open world when you moved from one instance to another creating an illusion the world was reacting to you. I hate how much of a step back we’ve gone back where the game is more and more InstanceCraft and the world is completely passive to you as you do keys or whatever. Banging out 3 keys feels so non- immersive in comparison.
Haranir and Forest Trolls as playable races in Midnight?

They have all of this delve stuff now, if they stopped pouring money into it when I don’t think it really brings joy and used those instances to tell an ongoing narrative group story that is playable, I think they could do a lot to bring it back.
That’s just me though.
If Blizzard is truly listening to its WoW community, High Elves and Forest Trolls should be Midnight’s new Allied Races.

I can’t wait to see Quel’thalas into Eastern Kingdoms soon.
I’d be very surprised if that happens. It’s easier for them to make a new zone Ghostlands-adjacent and tie it to Quel’thalas than modernize the TBC versions of the zones.
Also everyone should keep in mind GC isn’t BlizzCon. Some are expecting BlizzCon levels of attention paid to Midnight. Don’t get too hyped.
Me getting to Germany might as well be me booking a flight to Neptune right now. Can just one of these ever come to the east coast? Like Richmond? Atlanta?
