Jeremy Feasel (lead dev) on the removal of /spit

Ah the first sign of the death of self expression.

Hatred and love are two sides of the same coin.

lmao.

Pretty simple solution.
Have a tab under social systems.
Have boxes for all the emotes you’ll allow to be used on you.
Add a bunch of new emotes to foster RP, including /spit, since it’ll be an opt in system.

Well, you know, its my understanding that Trolls and the Forsaken are into cannibalism, so there ya go.

People are not thinking about the poor ERP. No more Goldshire. Moonglade is RIP.

I have a boosted tbcc toon and to be honest it doesn’t bother me because 1: not playing it right now and 2: It’s a game .

However we are seeing a big chunk of their money now is from shop purchases and all this shows is they will do what they can to defend what they consider to be their whales the Blizz shop Andys .

Again with the deflections to the player base, because they were what lead to the toxicity in your workplace…yeah…not seeing it.

They removed /spit only in TBC Classic because people were spitting on mount boostie bois and it was hurting their mount sales.

Proof that whales have feelings too.

All paths lead to M+, at a minimum, being moved over to the auto-grouping tool, as we have countless examples on the forums about the psychological issues occuring when players get continually declined.

Far worse than being the recipient of any emote, that’s for certain.

Players will need to meet sliding scale criteria based on score and ilvl. A player leaving a group can result in a deserter buff for said player (just like any other current auto-grouping), plus the timer stopping for the remaining players.

This auto grouping can be adapted for normal / heroic raids as well (again with prior boss kill / ilvl requirements)

Someone should tell them to :sunglasses: grow a thicker skin.

I guess I’m just emotionally stable enough to deal with not getting into a mythic group and requeue until I get into one.

Alex Afrasabai gets handsy when drunk because of the community, duh. If people didn’t /spit on each other, he’d have kept his hands to himself. It’s all the players fault!

lol

Unreal, just unreal.

When you are used to paying through any potential hardship you don’t have thick skin.

That does seem to be the “logic” at work here…

All the problems with the game, and internally in bluzzard, this is what they worry about? Sad attempt at acting like they care.

I think this is being blown way out of proportion. If /spit wasn’t in the game to begin with I doubt people would be clamouring for it.

Not really. The emotes in wow are so limited that they aren’t even worth using most of the time.

How often were you kicked from groups?

But is it really a big deal? How is going to affect gameplay for anyone, or the experience of anyone who isn’t:

  • A jerk.
  • Someone who RPs as a chewing tobacco user.

“This is just my opinion i will advocate for”
Its fine guys see thats just his opinion as a lead, that he is now going to be pushing at his work, its fine! see!
