As it stands, Jade Serpent Statue is only desirable for Mistweaving since Fistweaving really wouldn’t use Soothing Mist outside of faster Enveloping Mists casts.
If things stay close to how they are now, fistweavers will use soothingmist a lot because of the power level of cloudedfocus. We are going to have so many renewing mist out that playing ATotM wont bring enough to the table in comparison. Cloudedfocus buffs the cleave of our vivify on targets effected by renewing mist.
I honestly can’t see how that would be the play considering you have to channel multiple vivify casts into the same target to take advantage of Clouded Focus. It might be depending on how the ReM falloff timings work out but it does seem like it would be too tight for it.
We have an abundance of talents that can offer us multiple free ReMs that can be extended via RM. We are going to be peaking around 8 ReMs. The primary healing of vivify is not what matters. When you can reduce the cost of the spell and it does increased healing on the cleave from the CF buff. The cleave portion is not dependent on the effective healing of the primary vivify.
As it turns out, Blizzard says in their new blue post on monks that they want us to choose between fistweaving and mistweaving, great! Let’s see some new and exciting talents for each please!!
1)Introduce Fists of Fury for fistweaving as medium CD burst ability that can have added talented effects
2)Let Thunder Focus Tea be usable on Essence Font to deal damage instead of heal
3)Renewing Mist casts increase the damage of crackling jade lightning by 50%, using Thunder Focus tea causes Crackling Jade Lightning to strike up to 4 targets
Again, the timings are the important thing; if you start losing ReM before the third cast of vivify then the healing gets a large dropoff. It’s an extremely tight playstyle at the best case scenario and expecting an uninterrupted SooM+3 gcd sequence is a large ask.
It’ll need testing is the point I want to make.
