Most heroes are never known… while the winners write the history books…
Eh…fame ain’t what’s it’s cracked up to be anyways…
Not entirely true, you’re recognized in certain situations. For example, if you have the achievement for killing Lady Vashj in Serpentshrine Cavern, she’ll recognize you when you run into her in Maldraxxus and comment about how you were one of the ones that killed her.
Likewise, if you’re a rogue who completed the Uncrowned storyline in Legion, your encounter with Kearnen the Blade (the Maldraxxi form of Amber Kearnen from SI:7) is slightly different as she recognizes you as one of the Uncrowned and asks if her mission was successful.
Nobody in the Star Wars universe in Mandalorian seems to remember the people who overthrew the Empire and defeated Vader/Emperor.
This is the Shadowlands where all mortal souls go.
They have seen so many mighty heroes and terrible tyrants pass through that they probably consider it like the locals driving by a cornfield in Ohio.
Because not everyone knows everything. Do you really expect the casual farmer to know of draenor, outlands, ect? And people on draenor to know of your adventures in the broken isles? No one is interconnected.
That’s the problem with the WoW story, you don’t have to beat Arthas, you don’t have to beat Deathwing, you don’t have to go to Outland, every xpac is like starting the story fresh for your character. Blizz is not going to try and make the game differentiate between what you have done and what someone who just installed the game has done. WoW has never really been about your character, the game world is the main character and you just live in it
That’s how it is when you are part of a force. The top person gets all the credit and the people doing the hard work go nameless. Like when a platoon has a successful mission in real life, the soldiers and people doing the actual mission are always never known and the general gets the credit.
Well there are several times when in SL and beyond they reference our “Deeds” and stuff, maybe listen to more NPC chatter? We are in fact famous, or rather possibly infamous…some of us just more than others.
Our people know who we are. Some of the shadowlands NPCS recognise you, Vashj for instance, if you had killed her in the raid would berate you for killing her, but not if you hadnt
Yet despite saving everyone time after time, the flightmasters still have the cheek to charge us money for a quick flightpath ride.
You’d of thought we’d have earned a lifetime pass by now.
All flight masters are secretly employed by Goblin cartels
… especially the Ethereal ones.
Because, canonically and in lore, this is what we are.

i don’t save world for others.
I save it for myself.
if i let world die my enjoyment of making others suffer would go away.
I’d prefer fear than respect.
You should be morequestioning of why after all we contribute do we not get passive income?
basically all war vets by now and kingdom should be mailing me checks for my contributions.
