We have been going back-and-forth about this so long that I forgot how the argument originally started. It originally started when I responded to someone else who said exactly what you wrote above. You wrote in on your horse to defend this person for some reason. As if you were taking her side. She said you need friends to dungeons.
No one’s beating you on this. Why are you typing this? Can you show me where someone said this is not true?
Do you feel more right when you say type insults? Blizzard is quick to ban those who go out of their way to insult or belittle others. To me, it says that you cannot prove your point without typing an insult every single paragraph. Especially when You’re not even arguing. You were typing something that is indisputable and has evidence to back it up. Who knows why you were even logging onto these forums.
NO, I didn’t. lol. See how caps locked my word too. I responded to someone else and you have proceeded to type to me for three hours today. Who knows why. Throwing shade every single sentence. Typing out you’re glad I don’t have friends or whatever it is is outrageous. I will be reporting you for this.
I think some are having difficulty wrapping their heads around what is happening to wow.
Its not the same game anymore. Their goal is to retain players. Not alienate them from the content. Scores, ilvl, ect alienate gamers. They want to keep you engaged, without scaring you off. The M+ community scares ppl off.
You may say “well tough luck no cookie for you”, but people don’t care, they just unsub when they’re not having fun.
So Delves will be the priority moving forward because a large portion of wow players love them and prefer them from things like pvp or m+.
Blizz isn’t thinking “how do i cater to m+ players” at the cost of another game mode.
In the past raiding/mythic+ was exclusively end game. Now, there’s delves and when they see the persentages of players who parricipated in them. Delves are golden.
So, maybe rethink how m+ will opperate from here on out.
I haven’t had a chance to interact with it enough to know for sure.
But it feels like it used to go (sic):
Champ
Champ
Heroic
Heroic
Mythic
Mythic.
And now, it goes
Vet
Champ
Champ
Champ
Champ
Champ
Heroic
Heroic
Mythic
It just feels like there’s a MUCH bigger gap in progression, where only the tippy-top is rewarded, and there isn’t really a great system to progress to that tippy-top. Too much Champ-track, not enough Hero track.
But I’ll start pushing M+ next week, hopefully it’s better than it seems.
Although I think I understand the point you were trying to make, even the Devs said they want tWW to rely on a solid sense of gear progression and not have to resort to their standard means of nerfs.
They don’t want to nerf things, but instead allow us to gear up. Which… I agree with.
Delves are AMAZING at getting you into 2s and pushing to 4s.
But… it just feels like between 4-9 (someone in this thread said 7s?) … there’s… nothing.
Its definitely needing a higher point in m+ to get rewards you got previously. And I am ok with that. M+ was way too trivial to get not only the quality, but quantity of rewards it offered.
The people in delves that are now avoiding m+ arent the people missed in m+. I think its awesome that delves are a thing. I have done a ton. But the people ok with the limited rewards in delves arent the people that were making up a bulk of the playerbase for m+ progression.
This is exactly what I’m talking about. Recognizing something and being “glad” about it are 2 entirely different things.
I honestly pity people who have a compulsion to take statements out of context to the detriment of human interactions. Why do you insist on adding words where there are none? Feel free to report, as is your right, but I stand by what I’ve said.
The issue i see though with this is i dont think its actually going to help retain players.
Delves hand out so much loot that it wont be long until players cap themselves on the rewards that delves can give, and will become just a weekly chore to fill out your scratcher card.
I have a hunch you are going to see population in this season fall off HARD in about 2 more weeks, once casuals reach the point of being capped from delves and are just fishing for maps and filling out vaults, and the people who lost the key brackets they had in M+ are going to dip.
Right! Yeah I’m not saying it wasn’t like that before. It’s just pretty obvious there is a new design philosophy based around execution and mechanics rather than raw numbers.
Right now. At 2:37pm eastern on a Thursday, with a hurricane hitting the south east.
There are about 40-50 groups in my group finder. That are between 4-9. That have a tank. I filtered out the ones without a tank. So obviously that number would be much higher.
Im nowhere near being capped. I have 2 pieces of 616 gear. There’s many more to go. Plus there’s the upper tiers of delves, which unlock achievments, and unlock cosmetics. Of course Zekvyr as well.
So, i think it’ll last much longer than you think, and even if the Delve crowd bounces after 4-5 months. Thats still a win, and in the future can be built on.
Which non of those things you mentioned are difficult or take that much time.
I got immortal spelunker at 606 ilvl.
I keep putting ? Zekvir off, i tried ?? and i think i can get him by ilvl 616
If you are putting any sort of effort into key acquisition you can get 8 keys a week, with allegandy no cap on how many maps you can find a week just gotta be lucky which gives you heroic items + a heroic vault.
So the population that used to do m+ in the mid and lower key bracket, are players who tend to want to put a bit more effort into the game then most, and if you put even a miniscule amount of effort into running delves, you can cap yourself on delve gear in a few weeks.
You can probably get him sooner. Maybe depends on class/spec.
I duo’ed him as an ele sham with a warlock on his first tier of difficulty at around 605. He is just a very mechanically unforgiving fight. Feels like talking about m+.
without going into which level, i think there should be at least 1 key level in teh current season thats dropping heroic track but rewarding carved crests still. which i know might sound silly but feels like a good way to give people the gear progression they need via the hero item and the carved crest to get it to a point, BUT if oyu want to upgrade that hero item you need runed crests from higher keys so there is an incentive to push.
Right now the progression in M+ feels super weird because you get just getting champ items for anything below a +7 along with carved and runed crests but nothing relaly worth spending them on because you know if you do 7 you get heroic items and you wasted those runed crests on the champ items.
Which because we are limited in how many crests we can get in the season each week, its detrimental to waste them.
