Game is old enough to where we now have a significant portion of the population that couldn’t play and earn when it was current content, that player was too young to play. Especially at a level to earn these rewards.
Collectors editions for spending real money, sure. Keep that stuff as a thank you for supporting a products sales before proving itself. Playing a class when it was literal dumpster tier in a patch cycle and only a couple hundred people even got the skin tint and of them only like 50 play now? Just add it back.

People put in the effort (or money) for their seasonal rewards. Though I’ve never done high-end content like Mythic raiding or Elite PvP, I would be infuriated if I worked my tail off reaching 2000+ in 2s only for the mount and transmog set that I got as rewards to later be given to Highlord Fumbles and Huntmaster Chucklehead for basically free. Imagine all the recent Feldrake and Tyrael’s Charger threads times 50.
If the old Elite sets ever come back, they should at the very least require you to reach Elite during the current season, and the Mage Tower appearances should obviously come from the same challenges that they did before. Personally, I think every DH should be able to get the Flamereaper appearance, but only if the original four tints are obtained with the same difficulty as when they were new.

I think the mounts should stay locked, but the mogs were never too prestigious.
I’d like to see more armored pve mounts, though. I don’t typically enjoy post-mop pvp, this season is pretty fun though.
