…this vet fully disagrees and had a good chuckle from all this.
You had 3 months to power level fast to max.
It takes only a day to do it, missed out on anniversary stuff, maybe next year they’ll have the 3 month bonus xp buff again.
Play the game. You can lvl a character from 1-80 in a day if it was that important to you.
Your perspective is being skewed by the anniversary event
Botters would absolutely love this.
Also would you like M0 equivalent gear mailed to you also as well as maxxed out professions?
Our newly minted forum troll, how are you today?
Free boost?
It’s worth some thought actually.
Just from an alt perspective.
Level x amount of toons to cap, let’s say 10 and get a free max level boost.
Blizz are NEVER going to stop with the MTX, so thinking you’ll cancel any of that is a silly idea anyway
Nope, it’s not. I have more level 80 alts than I care to count, and the vast majority of them were done prior to the anniversary event. The fastest way to level is not by questing. Never was, never will be (without significant changes to the system).
Yes, it is. Timewalking is not normally available every week, and without timewalking people are leveling in entirely different expansions which exacerbates queue times for dps
Dungeons are faster 70-80, but questing is faster 1-70, period, thanks in large part to Skyriding becoming available at level 10. You can clear Elwynn and Redridge in under 30 minutes from hitting level 10, and you’ll be around 40 just from those 2 zones alone and the occasional rare. Dungeons only keep up if you have fast queues and fast runs
Most Veteran players who have played for 20 years now keep their alts maxed out (and by extension, every class).
No
Timewalking is only part of it. Like I said, I have more 80s than I can to count, and the vast majority of them were made prior to the anniversery event.
Clearly you don’t level many alts. You are not close to 40 just out of Elwynn, even with the 25% boost you get from having 5 80’s you’re still around level 18 coming out of Elwynn.
The fastest way to level from 1-60 is not questing. It’s rare spawn farm + exploration. From 60-70 it’s exploration and world events, and from 70 to 80 its dungeon spam.
I see where you are coming from. I remember when I leveled 13 characters to 120 and then they cut it back to 50 and we are slowly going up again. I was at the time incredibly annoyed I had put in all that time. My husband loves to level his characters I am more like you OP I prefer to play end game. Although I don’t think they would ever consider what you are suggesting because leveling keeps people playing which is good for the shareholders. What I would like them to do is make the boost to the current expansion ie 80 I would pay for that.
I’m literally constantly fighting with the 65 character maximum and only just yesterday finally cleaned house on most of them
I said Elwynn and Redridge, not just Elwynn. Source: I just did it a few days ago, without the anniversary buff
It sounds to me like maybe you’re just a slow quester
lol I’m calling BS on you clearing both in 30 minutes of gameplay. Just to be fair though. I’ll test it real fast and see how long it takes. And I’m far from a slow quester lol. I test speed questing vs exploration/rares all the time. So we will see.
It’s pretty easy to do with skyriding and being able to pull everything in sight and keep moving
The handout culture is getting out of hand in this game. Some people want everything free without doing anything to earn it.
We will see, testing it now, and yes i hit pause on the timer to type this out
Just remember, you said 30 minutes to complete 2 full zones, that’s what I’m calling BS on. We will see what type of numbers I get. I’m doing this with a fully loomed and enchanter hunter.
EDIT:
Human Hunter
Level 1-6: (Completed Human Starter Zone) 4:18
Level 6-14: (Completed Elwynn) 37:54
So we are already way past your 30 minutes to complete both zones, even removing the 4:18 from the staring zone we are past 30 minutes. A lot of this time was going from level 6-10 on the ground mount. That said, I’ll make Dark Iron Dwarf and start at lvl 10 with skyriding unlocked right off the bat and see how fast that is.
For one, I never said “complete”, I said clear, as in, doing the quests that are actually quick and not waiting on ones that take time
Two, yes, I’m exaggerating, oh no my big lie is exposed how will I ever financially recover
Three, I said “from hitting level 10”, aka when Skyriding unlocks. If you’re counting 1-10 that’s a huge chunk out of the time on its own
And four…as I’ve said from the start, this is compared next to not having instant queues and not having twinks clear the dungeon in 4 minutes. So in that same 30 minutes of time (which, I decided to start working on a new demo lock alt doing the same thing, who is about halfway through Redridge now and level 20) you’ll have maybe finished one dungeon if you’re lucky and be level 12, maybe 13, with the 25% warband bonus and anniversary buff. And that is not an exaggeration, just from timewalking alone I’ve had dps queues reach nearly 30 minutes, let’s not even begin to consider queuing without timewalking
If we want to get technical, the true fastest way to level is to quest while queued, but for the sake of argument if it’s one or the other, questing is faster, up until level 70 where the questing content has been designed with Skyriding in mind
Oh! Do tell!
This is wrong too.
The fastest way to level if you’re not a tank/healer is to do rare spawns+ exploration XP whiled queued. Not questing.
Just by doing rare spawns and exploration routes you can get to 70 in about 2.5 to 3 hours depending on your knowledge of the locations to hit. (assuming you’re earthen). If you’re not Earthen, it’s about a 4 hour grind doing it that way to 70.
Questing isnt bad, it’s just not the fastest way to level.
Fastest ways to level to 80
1 - Twink carry and it’s not even close
2 - Exploration/Rares to 70 and then Dungeon Spam to 80
3 - Questing and Dungeon Q
4 - Questing alone
So you seem to think “questing” doesn’t include exploration and killing rares? That must be where your confusion is
