Its time for a true single player progression path for end game

I have basically soloed this game since it launched. I got over my tolerance for grouping in FFXI.

There was a perfectly viable solo progression path for a long time:

  1. You leveled up and each level got a little stronger.

  2. You got some green gear and maybe lucked into some blue gear.

  3. At max level you started alts or maybe did some crafting.

  4. If you ran out of fun stuff to do, you unsub and do something useful with your life for awhile.

  5. Then a new expansion would come out and your new green gear would be better than top end gear from before. Rinse and Repeat.

But now.

  1. You level and get weaker.
  2. Level scaling negates a lot of progress and is poorly balanced.
  3. Crafting is marginal.
  4. Blizzard doesn’t seem to know what they want to do with this game.

Exactly.

The core of the design is around GROUP play, not solo play.

There are other games for that style of play, WoW isn’t THAT.

I believe that is the plan. Generally there isnt a tier set for the first raid tier. I believe (dont ask me for a source, I wouldnt be able to find it, so feel free to take this with a grain of salt) that they said tier sets were returning.

They don’t really need to add anything, they just need to expand on Torghast. It’s a solid feature already.

Very much doubt I outgear you but thats besides the point.

You can call it whining all you want but all that’s being asked for is an alternative solo gearing path with actual fun engaging content that doesn’t stress people out to a point of it being unhealthy but also gives people a goal however small to work towards.

Not everyone can or is able to do rated, raiding or mythic plus for many different reasons. We shouldn’t be shafted and treated like dirt because of it.

There’s no digital tears here, and you need to improve your reading skills. It’s not productive to have to repeat oneself - needlessly. TC offers no progression - it’s empty - it’s asking people to pay a subscription for an MMORPG and give them instanced content that offers no progression.

I agree with that actually.
I would love to see torghast offer some more tangible reward via twisting corridors.

honestly i dont care that much about them adding solo progression. im just pissed that nobody thought to adapt mmo gameplay into a single player game. i guess theres the original guild wars kinda. but even then thats still an mmo. just one with a really good main quest

in what reality do you live in?

what could possibly make you think mythic raider enjoy doing heroic over and over and over cause denatrius have our BIS trinket?

what could possibly make you think mythic raider enjoy doing 10X 14’s per week for a chance at an upgrade?

what could possibly make you think mythic raider enjoy grinding PvP for loot? or high level PvP’er doing PvE for loot as it happened so often in the past?

what make you think mythic raider enjoy system like the maw? or soul ash? or azerite power in BFA? or island expedition? or spamming visions every week?

in what reality do you live in to think the mythic raiders / high M+ pusher / high lvl PvP’er actually enjoy all the effin random system they keep adding every expension that we have to grind through to remain competitive in the area we enjoy?

You’re not treated like dirt dude. Drama llama. Casuals are doing these just fine.

Dude I want to unlock the Maw sets so bad through Torghast :weary:

He doesnt care if your happy… he cares that you are playing… “oh you don’t have your BIS trinket”… he knows you will keep running that raid week in/week out till you do.

Edit: more specifically he cares you are playing your sub, and believes less skilled player will pay their subs and try to emulate you.

it’s literally 8 floor of progression. a bit harder every time.

but like everyonelse in this thread you claim to want progression / content… what you really want is more gear. ideally for little effort ( IE not have to coordinate and play with other people).

gear =/= progression.

It is the nature of the game, has been for 16 years. You want them to reinvent the wheel, when it doesn’t need fixing. That’s the issue. I have unsubbed when not happy, and realized that others were content, it happens.

Again, check my progression. Other than a few LFR bosses and heroic dungeons I have done pretty much nothing. I am super casual, make due and play when I can. You seem to think I am epic, not at all, I am sub scrub right now, like amoeba levels, and even at that, I don’t think I deserve more.

Oh ya, that would be a good start.

which bring us back to your point:

Ion doesnt care about this as much as he does his mythic raider

mythic raider, MDI, elite PvP player are the ones who have been getting shafted over and over for the past years.

What’s being asked for isn’t some massive reinventing. The legion/bfa systems were a fine alternative. Even the argus crystal system wasn’t a bad alternative.

What I want is a currency I can use in TC to upgrade my gear. Why stop at 18 Floors, make it endless as I believed it was to be. I actually enjoy that content - but I want something for doing it. Weeks of just doing it for funzies is old now and nothing else is blowing my skirt up in the open world.

Now, if you have a big problem with that, fine. Go your way, I’ll go mine. We can agree to disagree on it.

You obviously will never see how solo or casual players are treated frankly because you don’t care about anything but you and your own. Fair enough but don’t act like nothing happens just because you don’t experience it.

Wow is literally built around those three pillars (built poorly and inexpertly) but built around them none the less.

SL is shafting casual players with a severe lack of loot, lack of content and watered down nonraid/M+ content … PVP is now also the best way to gear (which typically more skilled pvers also do well in PVP weather through skill or brute force ilvl).

Oh yeah, the person that RPed the last two expansions doesn’t know what being picked on is like. Get real and deal with your progression path ending when you chose to end it.

WQs offering raid tier upgrades in the current patch should never happen again.
