Why, in the 2025, are we still dealing with these camera problems in WOW. I have written a few posts about this up to this point. It is infuriating to say the least. So many deaths have been caused by bad camera angles and lack of camera transparency though walls that it’s a joke at this point. One should not have to CONSTANTLY adjust their camera in runs. Yet here we are. I fear that the Camera Boss has far surpassed the Elevator Boss for most kills at this point. Blizzard! I am begging you! PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Put a team on fixing the character cameras. It’s been long enough. You don’t really even have to change much. I would be happy to just have the walls transparent around my character. DO SOMETHING! ANYTHING! Having to constantly adjust the camera is not fun and it, not only takes away from the game, but it also causes countless deaths to just not being able to see crap that is a one-shot mechanic. This is due to a wall or a lamp or a tree blocking EVERYTHING you need to see because the character camera is buggy and will not clip right or just does its own thing for, you know, “Reasons.” I really wish you would stop ignoring this problem. I literally just missed a 12 key because I couldn’t adjust the camera fast enough to see an orb forming and sent an orb into a wall, wiping the whole team. I could give several more examples, but this is already long enough.
Please fix the cameras…

This could be a PEBCAK error.
Its probably because I’ve been playing for so long I dont even think about the camera anymore. It’s likes like an extension of my characters body.
At some point they changed the defaults to a dynamic camera and I always thought it was garbage.
I manually move my camera around without even thinking about it.
It’s not user error when a tree or a ceiling lamp clips in front of your camera.

It could be depending on your camera settings
Well, I am open to any suggestions in settings you think will help.
idk i find the camera mostly good except when in places like manaforge or the entrance of visions where max distance is clearly not accounted for well and the walls to block like you mention.
otherwise when moving basically right mouse is held most of the time anyway so it’s manually where i want it
Turn off all auto adjustment, take total responsibility for camera position.
Enable the silhouette setting
Listen to thecheatts response below.
It takes a little tweaking to get it where you want it.

Kinda curious what you’re referring to, as there aren’t really any outliers in this season’s current content. But perhaps it’s because I’ve already modified my camera settings to take advantage of some of the anti-collision functionality they’ve added.
Enter these commands in order (first two are just to ensure proper toggle) and see how it feels. You’ll find that in some situations, you’ll be able to completely obscure your character e.g. behind smaller trees without the camera snapping. It’s not 100% consistent still but the tech is new to TWW.

Dude you are a legend, I 100% did not know that. Still think it should be streamlined though.

It’s possible they may add it to the actual interface options in Midnight; they probably should, at any rate.
I will caution you that the setting can make it easier to accidentally place ground-targeted AoEs improperly on ceiling objects. One’s own mileage may vary, as is usual with this kind of thing. Manual adjustment is the solve in those scenarios.

The OG default camera settings were better than they are now for some reason.
At some point dynamic camera adjustment became a hot video game feature and blizz dropped a bad implementation to try and keep up.

I miss when you could set the camera distance to way out like back in wrath.

That was happening anyways, I saw that many times last season.
the addon advanced interface option has those settings in a slider bar under a camera menu.

I just kinda move my camera without even thinking about it. However, how the camera jumps up with some mounts is god awful. The bird mount from the phase diving vendor for example. Every time I mount it my camera jumps way up in the air over my character, whereas if I use a horse mount like Invincible the camera stays nicely centered.
It’s just a part of the “experience”.

I 100% agree. Complete crap that we can solve our own problems by going into the options tab readily available to everyone. Society should have everything we want and how we want it already set up. Ridiculous that we have to do things for ourselves! RIDICULOUS!
