time for all races to be able to be all classes
this restriction would open up a lot more customization , and how it currently sits its archaic , out of date and makes no sense
also all gear should be cosmetic , if you collected the appearance , ALL of your toons should be able to transmog it regardless of armor type

Asheron’s Call dye system was cool. had to find the plants of the color you want, which were random spawns around the world (tho some areas were more likely to spawn a certain color). then an alchemist had to mill the plant into a pigment, and then create the dye with the pigment and some alchemy supplies, and then finally apply the dye to the armor. but they could fail a skill check on each of those, and if they failed on the application, depending on how bad they failed there were a few outcomes. like they could just turn the armor pink, or they could lower the armor level of the item by alot if they failed that bad… aswell as turn it pink.
i think something like that should be implemented in wow, would be hilarous to see someone in a full suit of awesome armor all matching in color, except the chest piece is bright pink. or as we did in AC, make suits of failed dye jobs. someone i knew even got their armor that looked like samurai armor pink, and then failed the dye job on the bunny slippers, so he was a pink samurai running around with pink bunny slippers too!
I read from somewhere that this was asked during a Q&A in 2018/2019 and it was mentioned that they can’t do it because they have to rework their shading/detailing for all the old items and felt like it wasn’t worth the effort.
I think that there’s still an argument to be made about implementing this only for new items, but idk.
I’m sure they could, but considering the changes necessary to implement something like this…
Plants of different colors and spawn points to be added.
Alchemy to be reworked to make the dye, which would undoubtedly need to be sold on the AH.
Now, every single piece of gear in the game would require recoding to accept different dye colors.
And we add RNG failures including my gear has a chance to be downgraded just to change color? Just NO.
The last major undertaking like this, garrisons, we lost a raid tier. If Blizzard can implement things like a dye system and housing without taking away from the limited content we already get, sure.
But I would prefer more content to run first, not a new farming routine to try to make my armor pretty. There are already tons of color options just waiting for you to farm out of old instances.
Ya it is about time. Restrictions don’t keep subs they only drive more people away. My dark ranger is cool I resubbed this month just so I can play around with it a bit.
But it’s not going to last more then this month since my main isn’t a dark ranger.

I’d Main a troll demonhunter (shadowhunter rp) so hard I’d never need to play Alts or unsub again.
Heck the only thing that’s being me back for dragonflight is playable
Tuskarrs or having a troll visage form for evokers. And so far only one of those is even a slight possibility.
They’ve already come out and said that long term they want all races to be able to be all classes with very few exceptions (probably like DH), there are just current class based artwork limitations holding them up.
Paladin race mounts, Shaman totems, Druid forms all require race specific artwork.
They could just go to a generic druid forms for the races there arent specific ones for, and do it gradually, i mean how many of the races at this point have there race cosmetic sets? that shouldnt be a reason to not do it or wait…
as far as dyes, even if you could only dye class specific sets , i think most people would be happy with that
but i also think making all acquired appearances be able to be transmogged to any char regardless of armor that class wears
one huge reason people leave this game is lack of customization , and why they end up in games like ESO and FFxiv , and when AOC comes out , i fear for blizzard, no-one could have believed when shadowlands came out that they would lose more then 1/2 the player base
Blizzard competes just fine in the current market.
Sub numbers have nothing to do with your requests nor would sub numbers improve if they added them.
This is something that would be nice, as it’s mentioned already that there are complications to adding this feature, I personally would like to see them take on the challenge and make it happen.
