Its really simple why game is dead

You should be able to carry those. There really isn’t that much to learn with BGB. Most of it is pretty straight forward and intuitive.

yeah its the length of the seasons and not the fact PvP has never been more stale

Nah the gameplay of this expansion has been pretty cool

Ye we did.

Why’d they cap the flag with two bases not just once but twice man it’s like demons summoned specifically to crash games :dracthyr_uwahh_animated:

its pretty cool if you like spamming buttons and watching numbers pop up, sure

otherwise it is stale as hell lmao there is a reason no one really plays arena anymore

no one is going to learn a boring game to be the best, its literally torture for most people

Wait, who did this?

I don’t remember. Some demon. :dracthyr_a1: Just had a MG Feral pick flag in WSG and explode insta and throw the game for some reason.

That’s when you type in all caps “DO NOT CAP! HOLD!” a few times to make sure they see it.

Bgb is literally just a grind and there’s very little skill involved.

Vanilla wow fanboi dream come true.

Slapping a rating on normal retail BGs is not a vanilla wow fanboi dream lol

Ya lot more social dynamics and wintrading in vanilla

At least gameplay has come a long way :dracthyr_love_animated:

I’ve been preaching this vision of WoW 2 since 2019, but somehow it seems like there’s no long-term vision in mind, at least there hasn’t been one until the WorldSoul Saga, and even that’s not really defined so far into the future.

This is the idea I have, just without the rating requirement. Keep rating for mounts and titles, but armor sets for participation.

Now, I know that it sounds like an advocation for participation trophies, but it’s more a goal that everyone can achieve regardless of your skill level.
Relative to player base, only a small number of players reach 1800 or higher. I get some people will say “get gud if you want the sets” but most people will just not try instead. However, like with anything, the more you do the better you get. Will most people become 2100+ players, no, but they will definitely get better.

It’s all about driving up participation, not finding ways to gate keep people. We want more players not less.

Edit: Also by removing the rating requirement, you almost delete the need for duo abusing sellers. That’s a win no matter how you look at it.

The problem is 99.99% of stuff in the game is already like this.

I think it wouldn’t help anything the same way lowering rewards down a tier this season didn’t help

Nobody cares about the vicious mounts which already exists as a reward for the system you’re advocating. At best you’d see a spike in activity as people no lifed for every set and then nobody would care about them anymore.

PvP always existed because people just wanted to PvP. In the golden age of MMORPGs most games you didn’t get anything for killing each other but people still did it all day.

Gamers changed they will play WoW for a couple weeks then follow streamers to the next thing. I don’t think WoW will find long term success trying to reel those people in

Well, Shadow Flame managed to do this relatively successfully, and I’d say I’ve set a goal to chase the tabard this season. A sense of aesthetic lure and an appeal to luxury is a GREAT incentive (natural, evolutionary, psychological). However, sadly, I blame prevalent philosophies for vilifying that, as well essentially portraying uniqueness and a hierarchy based in merit and effort as sinful. It’s a fear of effort and individuality, and glorification of laziness and sameness. I know it’s highly philosophical and contrarian, but I genuinely hold that this is the core of the issue in entertainment today. When nobody is allowed to be unique, nobody feels on edge from competing for the sense that they have earned something that reflects and commemorates pride, from self-esteem, from achieving that coveted goal. It’s simple psychology that’s now decried because of shear pseudo-science in academia. I say this because I experience that on a daily basis, and this is where graduates come from into these industries.

Sir this is Wendy’s

Add to the above a willful, selective refusal to use one’s mind (and consider processes rationally, on large scales & long-term. If that were the case, we wouldn’t have had these minute design issues that take months to sometimes half-repair…)

a grass-roots premade vs premade in vanilla is what BGB dreamed it could be

I mean around 2.3 right now, it’s normally 2-3 teams queing and whenever I que it’s Jungles/thunders, pretty hard to beat as splay so I just stop queing lol. Until fury/bm get nerfed I can’t really be bothered to push either.

How are you so low when you play the best two classes in the game rn tho?

I imagine quite a lot of people have collected every single one then, mount collectors in particular.

Possibly, but there are how many past season sets across how many different classes? They might only want 1 or 2 sets, okay cool, it increases participation for that period. An old player may return and decide they want the legion sets, cool, increased participation. Every person who wants the sets would be more inclined to participate in PVP if they didn’t have to get to 1800, and then win x games above 1800.

And it still does, so don’t gate keep the mogs, just the mounts and titles.
