So, my rational brain says of course it’s ok to make mistakes, no one is perfect. But the pressures of the game environment make mistakes bring out the worst in people and lead to frustrations around wasting time moreso than the actual mistake itself.
The problem isn’t just “Oops, I didn’t hit my defensive/interrupt fast enough.” The problem is more that that one thing could, outside of your control, cause you and others to have to sit around for another 10-15 minutes after the tank bails for supposedly greener pastures.
It’s a sound statement & sometimes the insulting will come from the player having done such things
(misakes), but won’t tolerate another doing the same & behave in a rude pompous way. Let’s give these a wide birth or they might get a hernia!
On a rare occasion, you will experience someone doing repeated same mistakes, for unknown reasons.
However, focusing on high DPS & dismissing mechanics is still ongoing…I do believe Mythic created this beast?
These are all lifestyle choices, and could be called the fault of the player who experiences them causing a wipe the rest of the group. They are all within the control of the player, as they could just not have those things in their life while playing an M+.
However, that isn’t to say that anyone needs to be upset when wipes happen. Most people, from what I’ve seen and experienced are quite chill and nice whenever wipes happen. Sometimes people do get upset, but that isn’t the general rule.
Further, it seems to me that the people who get upset at others are generally mimicking behavior that they receive as for whatever reason they have surrounded themselves with such negativity and are projecting it onto others.
As they say, failure is the pathway towards success. With your goals in sight, keep moving forward, focusing on those goals.
It is okay to make mistakes. You have to own them, like letting one rip in an elevator, “That was me! I’m SORRY! I hate it too!”
Most people are pretty forgiving. Some mean people will press you hard if you admit mistakes, mark and avoid them. The highest hurdle is not beating yourself up too much.
No its not. If im not perfect everyone will yell at me, hate me, and kick me out. Thats why i will just play solo content or group content im confident in.
Been doing like 4-7 range m+ on my alts and seen a few people really beat themselves up over dying to something avoidable when the key was rolling smoothly
Like it was fine, literally no one else said anything about them dying until they freaked out
