It's Ok To Have Hard Specs In The Game

So they should cater to the 1% instead of the majority that are paying the bills? You know Blizzard is a business right? …and they aren’t Fromsoft. They are playing to their audience.

I have zero interest in strawmans.

and I have zero interest in people that don’t know what a strawman is.

I’m having trouble getting on with the idea that it’s good for the game to have trash specs that will forever keep players who play them from progressing.

Weird to say you have no interest in yourself but ok?

The point being made though is that it doesn’t matter what rotational complexity the game does or doesn’t have at that point, the majority of players performance problems stem from an inability to act at all, not an inability to parse the correct action. Making rotations simpler won’t fix the problem of people not pressing anything.

So all the people that are now using the OBR and suddenly getting blue or better parses instead of gray are what? Magic?

The rotations are too complicated for WoWs combat. This is not hard to logic through but yall are refusing to try.

The damage differences you can pull off in vanilla as a hunter when you’re using 4-5 damaging abilities is absurd. Have you played anytime recently? Pruning abilities means your abilities are more impactful, which means those who optimize and perfect their rotation will still be heaps above others in damage.

You can still make the game hard to master your rotation with more complex encounters and the removal of addons. I think this is going to be amazing

I think there’s a difference between having to make the most of what you have, and not having enough to make anything at all.

Most of these changes fall into the latter rather than the former for me.

I don’t think it will make much of a difference at all in terms of skill. It will most likely be at the same points as it is already, the only impactful difference is the effects it has on the people playing these specs. As many of them function incredibly differently and can barely be called the same spec. idk what to say when they decide to arbitrarily change a spec’s entire damage profile and way it does damage.

You might be right but it’s hard to say without playing. I can’t imagine being a top tier player with half of the specs in the game without addons and weakauras, but maybe I’m just bad

I’d think without all the tools we’ve been using for years, some of the bloat needs to go

I can play my class as it will be in midnight alpha on live right now, I just need to untalent core mechanics and take spells off my bars. There is nothing missing to be added that has any impact rotationally, it is just take, there is no give.

But can you play your current spec with no addons, no weakauras, go into a 15-18 key, and keep up with everyone else?

Given there’s nothing fancy to track (Which there isn’t, to be clear) and my UI is pretty replicable using blizzard’s own stuff? Yeah.

That’s great! Idk what you play, but I would say not all specs need pruning. BM Hunter would be an example. But rogue and Mage / other classes that snapshot bleeds and crap probably need some help

weakaura’s for rotation are completely overstated imo, even arcane which people claim you should use a wa for can easily be played without one. it’s typically the encounter/dungeon/group design that matters the most for that.

Shadow Priest.

Bliz are removing Void Bolt, Void Torrent, and MFI, as well as greatly reducing resource generation by removing apparitions from mind blast and other passives. Spec will be slower, have less instants for movement, feel less dynamic with no changes in cast time from MFI, and lack resources on pull heavily making it extremely slow to get off the mark.

Idk personally I had a hard time arcane maging without WA in higher keys and keeping up with other DPS. It felt like there are just too many if than else statements happening at once

Classes like Hunter MM/BM and balance Druid on the other hand seemed like they inherently made sense and were overall more intuitive

I don’t like downtime so I hope there aren’t times where you’re just doing nothing. Maybe this is just a start though. After all it is alpha, so maybe they’ll add some more stuff to classes that got gutted too far

maam, you’re posting on a character whose whole rotation is pressing frostbolt.
