World PvP is definitely the second worst part of classic, after the absurd level of meta-gaming.
Classics not for you than and thats okay. ![]()
They’re not wrong.
PvE servers are a thing.
If blizzard can’t control the faction imbalance. Wpvp will only be fun for the faction that vastly outnumbers the other… and we all know which one that will be. lol
They are, but youll never get the true Classic experience on them imo. Classic PvE itself is mostly a meme. People try to spin up 9000 different ways to make 1 mechanic fights seem harder than they are.
I like the PvP servers myself, but the appeal for PvE servers isnt just endgame raid content or whatever, its more about a chill “pure rpg” leveling and exploration experience out in the world.
I’ve played RP servers my entire career and that sounds dreadful tbh.
But I won’t hate. The majority of people who played Classic 2019 “thought they did but didn’t” when P2 dropped.
I just don’t enjoy Warcraft Classic without the War, but I really can’t take away from people who enjoy it. Faerlina and Benediction wouldn’t exist if many of the PvP server players didn’t realize they actually didn’t want to play PvP.
Hey, im with you. The world pvp is the best part of Classic WoW to me. But i have a buddy who likes PvE servers for the reasons mentioned above. Different strokes for different folks.
I’ll never understand players who say classic pvp sucks and they just want to pve and miss out on all the good stuff. Pve is like a quarter of the entire game. You’re not only missing out but imo you really aren’t the classic enjoyer you think you are
Even the best and most die hard PVE guilds who place front page top 5 speed runs etc are pvpers.
I never encounter these pve only pvp sux players anywhere except the forums, for whatever reason
I enjoy Classic PvE quite a bit … I don’t go around slamming PvP enjoyers though.
To each their own eh?
I’m mainly referring to the people who blatantly flame classic pvp.
They will tell you it sucks and classic is a pve game etc.
They don’t even “play the game”
Ahh, I think there’s room for everyone. ![]()
Layering is still a huge concern. Sucks all that world pvp going on while you’re stuck on some empty layer. Get ready for endless layer invites.
Layering can be problematic especially if it splits a horde and ally version of Ashenvale
It’s not Blizzard’s job to control the Faction Balance, and nor should they.
I played on a Server in Vanilla that was 1 to 3 in the opposite factions favor and had an amazing time in WPvP, and all of the people that were on my faction were forced to be better players and we would take out 1-3 people ourselves. The game functions just fine when you’re outnumbered, you just need to think tactically and there is fun in hitting like Guerilla Warfare instead of simply constantly lining up in the same spot in the same way. You’ll find that when a Server for example has tons of Alliance and very few Horde, a LOT the players that tend to go there are the keyboard turners that got promised by their friends they wouldn’t get camped on this server.
Shooter games come to mind, some matches where the enemy out numbers you may not always be won, but you have a lot more heads to shoot at and so if you don’t end with a positive exp or KdR thats on you.
One time we Set up Druid/Shamans and bait and lured the Allies into the Tower near the road beside Tarren Mill and Ambushed them and wiped them clean with most of us left and they had double our people.
Another time (and fairly often) we would run as Squads in Duskwood (rather than huge raids) and hit and run in different ways and the Squads would use the Local Defense channel to report the Allies Raid movements.
Two Warlocks working together in two parties can harrass the enemy faction all day, if they get wiped only a few need to escape (and don’t die on top of a GY like a nub) then you can just get summoned all day to new hidden spots, rebuff and assault again as a hit squad which helps the war effort in that zone.
I stayed on that server for 3 years, it was quite clear who had the better PvPers on Thunderlord, because we always fought tactically and outnumbered any time we came across another group with the same number we slaughtered them easily (IE; two dungeon groups in BFD etc.)
Moral of the Story, try to have fun… stop worrying about the color of the grass in the other person’s yard.
exactly right man, they really need to make wpvp the focus especially on pvp realms where thats what people want
wpvp is the pinnacle of the game
i hope to see more incentives to go through old zones, find lost treasures get rare weapons that make you powerful in pvp, etc… all the stuff that made MMOs of old sing
Playing a rogue on the low pop faction side is one of the most fun ways to PvP on WoW.
You can boost 80 rogues on bene now and gear them via wg/bgs easily to cause plenty of trouble.
Shamans Ghost Wolf through a dense Forest like Duskwood I find is easy enough to set up ganks as well… don’t even need true stealth if you have the Vision Range the way Classic is, just flirt with that loading range and close distance, kill fast and get out and wait for his back up… then go kill some things and scout them out with Far Sight.
