As a tank I pull as much as I can handle. I know majority of trash pulls what they do so I don’t wanna keep wiping to impatient people.
Wants kicked so far , but I was getting messages like “you don’t keep aggro, take them of me”. My response is usually “you wanna speed up then tank one group I’ll tank this one”.
Except that Blizzard has spent years training players to do exactly that by making M+ the core of their reward system for end game dungeons. So while the community is partially to blame for acting the way they do, Blizzard is also to blame by heavily incentivizing that behavior and effectively driving the forgiving players out of the game. Try FFXIV. You’ll never get kicked for pulling slowly there.
their loss imo. tank ques for them is hit or miss at least for you it will be instant IF you didn’t get the deserter debuff from getting kicked which is stupid to begin with.
with good people speed is okay but that just depends how you judge your group. it’s like my job tbh. with the right people it’s fast af and people knowing what they are doing. but say for example tonight different story. 2 of us are fast 3rd person is slow ontop of that nobody is working together. sous chef shouting out orders, coworker is already lost from only having 3 orders, he is impatient to wait on her orders and just sending out cold food and me im trying to help her out cause he didn’t want to wait.
now you watch just me and her husband tomorrow its fast and that is from me making all my orders from scratch too because we actually have rythm not just lost af like idgaf you sous chef or not if you don’t know how to guide people thats when it goes to hell.
what he should of been doing is expediting. calling orders, and helping both sides plate and sending out not working my station.
Used to be nice tanking and leveling with heirlooms.
Then scaling happened, then they nerfed heirlooms into the ground.
Finally they nerfed the absolute mass out of the heirlooms even more like holy-promised-land why not just remove them at this point LOLreworked them to their current state.
Misaligned expectations between random players can cause frustration. I’m sorry you and others have experienced this, Piidina.
One way to potentially mitigate this - beyond the suggestions of guilds/communities - is to offer to tank in general chat, stating you’re new / still learning tanking. That way you can better align your expectations with your teammates, and they know from the start what to expect.
Nonetheless, hope you hang with tanking. It’s very fun and rewarding and there’s some awesome tanks on this forum that are a wealth or knowledge.
I kick slow tanks and pure healers in my dungeon dailies
Though usually if the tank says they’re new I try to encourage them since wall to wall is the norm. I ain’t got time for a healer who twiddles their thumbs, their dps is not inconsequential.
In WoW I enjoy a clown show and always decline kicks no matter the reason. Typing “I can’t read. I don’t have eyes.” In the chat to add seasoning is also the best.
Blizzard just needs to add a CD to how many kicks you can do in an hour. While I don’t see kicks all that often, it would make people a little less trigger happy.
people just want to speed thru the really bad leveling process because all forms of leveling suck. That is why you get kicked. You’re making the pain last longer.
Welcome to the PUG world where the only thing people care about are themselves which can be seen on full display by many of the replies here excusing toxic behavior. I’d suggest finding a guild/group to run content with at some point because it doesn’t get better when reaching max level.
This. People love to dump on the community for this but the truth is it’s entirely blizzards fault. Blizz sets the pacing. Blizz sets the rules. Blizz sets the reward structure. Blizz trains the playerbase in paradigms.
Sure players will try to min/max current content but once again, it’s blizz that allows it. What’s that? Got a talent that is literally a dps loss like glacial spike? Tough! Not like increasing it’s dps would fix it. Nah. Surely not. No way. Nu uh. No how. Never…
If you’re going slow in a dungeon, you might not know it but you are literally torturing some players that just want to get their alts to max level. Going through the same content that people probably did when it was current that isn’t difficult and doesn’t provide any good rewards is not fun.
You kick tanks in leveling dungeons? This is a thread about tanks getting kicked in leveling dungeons. Are you just bragging that you kick tanks to prove you’re the boss in this game and they’re your underlings?
Your claim that you kick tanks for no reason but that you are easily annoyed by the existence of other people contradicts your claim that you never approve other people’s kick votes.
At this point they need 2 que options. 1 that allows kick the other doesn’t. The elitists can go in the kick one and enjoy their long times in que waiting.
Tanking in ffxiv is way different than WoW. It’s expected for both their survivability and for time to pull wall to wall. If they feel like they can’t. I encourage. If they give me the “you don’t pay my sub” attitude, well the rest of the party agreed they don’t pay ours, either.
Actual standard questing to level is awful. The quests themselves are the most mundane filler pieces of junk around, the world has zero sense of danger, and you just kind of drag yourself through it.
I understand it feels worse than it otherwise would for veterans who have been through them many times, but that doesn’t change the fact that most of the quests are “x local threat is causing problems, go kill 7 and bring me their wallets”.
I know those kinds of quests are necessary. Not everything can be a multi-continent spanning thing like the original Darrowshire chain. But the sheer volume of them makes it unbearable for me.
