It's been 17 years IRL since Wrath, and 12 or so years in game since DK's could be playable

Azeroth is filled with amazing technology and magic, and tons crazy machines running around. How in the heck has nobody figured out how to make a portable Runeforge yet?

I mean we have a portal with a very short cooldown that puts us on the steps of one… its not exactly a problem in my opinion.

With no HS.

Portal to Legion Dal → Portal to SW / Org → Portal back to current content.

Yeah, not a problem, but super annoying and as far as QOL stuff in the game goes. An easy fix.

Like, in-setting reason? Runeforging’s unholy bad juju, very few people are willing to even work with it (and so making equipment for it’d be out of the question), and Death Knights are really more of like tolerated than anything.

Real reason? Devs either haven’t thought of it, or felt it was a small enough thing with Death Gate functioning the way it does that it didn’t merit additional tweaking. Personally, I’m in agreement with that. If I’m not misremembering, Death Gate can be used again to get a portal back where you started, sorta like that Monk zen-teleport thing. So I mean, big picture it’s nominally more convenient than making a regular enchant, as your “Hearth” for Ebon Hold is way shorter CD than a normal Hearthstone. Y’know, in addition to being able to use it again to return where you started from within Ebon Hold.

Edit as promised: Yeah, dude. I don’t even know what this thread’s about anymore. It’s literally just written on the tooltip. It is as follows -

Death Gate - 1 rune, 3.3 sec cast, 1 min CD
Opens a gate wich you can use to return to Ebon Hold.

Using a Death Gate while in Ebon Hold will return you back to near your departure point.

If you use the Death gate portal again it takes you back to where you were, so no need to even use HS.

Lmao, its funny because years of playing a DK I didn’t even know it said that. Not even kidding. I had it set to a macro.

Still, let me drop a runeforge where I want

You basically are in a way. Drop death gate…runeforge there. You just have to take a few steps to get to it, then Death gate again and you are back to where you started.
Also, DK’s have been playable since/during Wrath came out so same amount of time.

I mean, you pretty much can, dude. But wait, there’s more - your drop-it-anywhere runeforge also comes with a flight master, repair NPCs, merchants, and a handy dandy war table for free* Legion goodies.

*Free with investment of Order Resources. Small print, I guess!

What do you mean 12 years since DKs could be playable? Theyve been playable since Day 1 of Wrath. 17 years. My character is damn near old enough to vote.

Same here. Rolled her up on day 1 they could be played. Getting the arrows in those first few hours were such a pain even on my low-pop server

Id rather get the arrows than do that stupid torture quest where you have to use hot pokers and sit there auto attacking the townspeople for information.

You have to question about what methods Keleseth was really into.

Hey, at least he provided the 2-handed version so if you are frost and the 2-handed version don’t work, just swap to the DW version and it will have its own cooldown.

So on and so forth.

It’s been 12 in game years since WOTLK, as the story goes. 17 years IRL. Thought that was clear in the title.

In a way, I don’t absolutely hate the idea of requiring going to our class hall for our runes. I think Blizzard should have kept our class halls relevant past Legion since it adds a lot of cool fantasy.

But, I would like to see them come up with reasons to go to our class hall that aren’t runeforging since that’s a little annoying. At least remove the CD of Death Gate so I can go there, runeforge, and get out without waiting for the CD

That wasnt clear at all.

it doesnt work half the time.
which is admittedly better than the past 4 years or so which was it never worked.
