Its been 11 months with 1 content patch

I’d love to know how you got your information that 10% has been done. Or should we be offering you a bucket of hand sanitizer?

11 months has to be 10% effort. working at home, no commute, being in comfort… and this is all an entire team with AAA backing and a monthly sub fee produced?

It’s not just the covid thing it’s also the big Blizzard women scandal thing

No, it still heavily affected the first patch as well. Remember that patches are largely worked on in tandem, not sequentially.

That said, this thread is spinning this from the get go with misleading wording. Patch length ranges from 6-9 months outside of extended end of expansion patches. We got our first patch for Shadowlands seven months in, and it’s only been four months since then. Even with the most ideal numbers no one should be expecting a major patch for at least another two months, and we’d never get two patches in just eleven months.

2/10 bait.

No, patch length is considerably shorter than what we’ve had in SL.

We should be well into 9.1.5 and talking about 9.2 at this point.

Other games companies are handling things MUCH better.

Interviewing

The resolution on that image is unfortunately too low to actually read the data. Blowing it up in another tab didn’t even help.

Why wouldn’t they be delayed with what all is going on inside the company? It’s clearly obvious that major shifts are happening, and it will undoubtedly affect development times.

fixed it copied the wrong image address

lolololol  :joy:

Me personally, I think the delay is because they are completely overhauling the expansion. What originally was meant to be 3 major content patches is being trimmed down to 2 and that requires significant work to make everything flow as smoothly as possible. So all the smaller non-content changes they considered spreading out over the expac are going into 9.1.5. We will then have 9.2, some other smaller changes and that will be it.

And you know one reason I think thats so - no cinematics. I mean the high quality ones like Old Soldier. All of those cinematics would have been heavily oriented to future story and I suspect they haven’t appeared because the future story is being compressed and changed to fit a shorter story timeframe.

Those cinematics are expensive, probably can’t take the money right now to do one :stuck_out_tongue:

They are worked on well in advance, they’ve said that before. I think they sometimes are done like a year ahead of time due to how much work goes into them.

The team that makes those actually isn’t the wow team, so who knows what’s going on.

As far as I know they are made inhouse by their graphics team. Ive never seen any indication they are outsourced.

They’re not outsourced but they’re not made by the wow team either.

Blizzard has a special team that makes all the HQ cinematics from all their games.

Yep when you put it like that that definitely is really crappy.

It would be much more bearable I think if a few things were changed earlier/not implemented but even the best expansions can deal with 8-9 month gaps between content patches. This is insanity.

So its been “basically” 4 months since the most recent patch.

Not 11.

Old content gives loot.

Why I am there pretty much all the time.

In an hour of play…I can need to clean out my bags at least twice.

Yeah most of its grey/white trash…it gets me some pocket money gold.

My tries at LFR…okay an hour of wipe funs. What do I get? Nothing. The great vault not so great. The one time I did get a drop. Well the vault kept on giving the eye ball bosses drop vault after. Okay game…I got eye ball’s trinket. please give me something new…

Okay anima…don’t care about upgrades, many cosmetics not thrilling me.
