You’re not punished for not having a guild, you are rewarded for being in a guild.
If you farm dungeons/raids for tmog, it’s horrible annoying to get out of them. And often you can finish 1 before hearth is up from leaving the previous.
I avoid classic of all types, too much QoL is lost in classic
Nice catch,
Make your own guild that’s what I did
Or those of us who’ve started a “one-man” guild.
If they’d fix it to make it easier to get opposite faction into guilds, it wouldn’t be an issue.
See I main/mostly play Alliance. I have an Alliance guild. Alts can get in easily by searching it and requesting. My Horde characters though can’t see the guild. I know there’s a weird way I could do it using communities but it’s such a pain I haven’t bothered.
Instructions:
a) create x-faction community on GM in your guild
b) create persistent link to join community
c) create “invite link” in x-faction community chat
d) copy persistent link to join community to clipboard
e) log on to "applicant, go to join community and paste community link
f) click the “join link” for your guild
g) log off and then log onto the guild GM
h) go to applicants, click “invite”, log off
i) log on to applicant, go to guild management, click “accept”
Why not join a guild and get some perks and make friends? Its 2024, get some social skills
Make your own personal Guild (I have 4) then you have all the perks, lots of storage, no drama and don’t get random guild invites.
Exactly what I do.
As someone that has joined guilds in multiple games over the years, the dynamics of guilds / social structure has changed. I can list a bunch of issues and we could go back and forth over the list, but guilds just aren’t the same in 2024 as they were in previous years.
I’d not call it punishment, that’s a bit extreme.
And, the guilds are not happy either. We were promised “guild improvements” for TWW and we didn’t get anything. Unless you call someone from another realm can now join your guild, that feels like a nothing burger to me.
I had visions of 24-hour titles that the GM could give out or special parties or a reason to do content together as a guild. If that had happened, you’d be REALLY unhappy, Mr. OP.
So join a guild, lots of guilds even if they are raiding guilds like mine, we still accept all classes/lvls and all types of players
I feel like it’s more of a reward for being in a guild than a punishment for not being in one. A guild is a group that works together, depends on each other and offers each other support. That comes in the form of guild benefits.
If you don’t want to be in a guild, or create a guild to gain those perks you don’t get them. Makes sense to me.
My grievance is that it’s 2024 and not all classes have a travel form like Druid. I tried to play a DK and was reminded how slow it is to walk.
Sorry, I escaped the psyche ward… I’m just waiting for them to find me and feed me my daily allotment of pudding again… alternatively you can take me home and feed me pudding, I’ll sleep on the rug.
That’s actually a minority of the playerbase.
There are so many guilds that insta invite if you are unguilded. I don’t see how joining one impacts play. Most of them don’t care about activity.
Pfft, you youngins. Why, back in my day, whether in a guild or not, hearthstones were longer. Like, 60 minutes long.
If anything there are too few incentives to be in a guild/raid.
