So, when linking items to friends in the chat, it seemingly includes the entire ID or something of the item.
May want to fix that.

I am having the same issue as are some friends …example of what comes in bnet chat - tem:221198:7334:213458:213458:::::80:254::33:8:10390:6652:10383:10879:10396:11990:3157:10255:1:28:2462:::::|h[85-Year Tenure Ring]|h
all other chat types seem fine
Also encountering this. Items linked across bnet messages can’t be viewed and has a long ID string. As Mbt posted other chat works like normal including direct player whispers.
This has been happening since patch day.
Any whispered item link is just text with the item ID. You can still link in guild chat and other places but whisper links are broken.
