with the amount of gold you make in game and the fact that WAY LESS people actually buy carries than the forums want to admit, the notion of blizz forcing tokens shows this argument as idiotic. Pulling theories out of thin air along with their gold I guess
I mean what game throws it out to it’s customers saying “we dont know what to do can you help us do our jobs?”
Where is the account wide rep they said would happen?
This is pretty much all that matters at this point.
Some of the best franchises don’t actually change coaches that often.
Steelers
Patriots
Etc.
The coaching roller coaster is for bad teams.
We are a bad team then who keeps the same coach
Dear OP,
As long as the current leadership can pull in the required quarterly revenue, they’ll have a job. Which is to say, as long as players keep spending money on whatever the company dangles in front of them each quarter, then the current leadership will keep their jobs.
Yep. It’s about the money never the fantasy right? That’s ions mantra. He has systems and tokens and all kinds of stuff in play. The magic of the fantasy genre and game are long gone. You are right ….which is why we need real leadership
I think it’s less about Blizzard employees participating in these activities (as bad as that is) and more about the game going out of its way to encourage anything that stimulates the token economy, the more people buying tokens to pay for runs and buy gold sinks, the more profitable WoW becomes. Lets face it, with an ever dwindling player base, they need to keep extracting more and more money out of those of us that are left.
I hear ya so it’s about stopping the sub hemorrhaging and not about the actually genre of the game anymore or art if you will. It’s about selling it to salvage and squeeze whatever they can out of who is left.
Sadly, yeah.
The real tragedy is that if they just put the effort and resources into the game that they once did, we’d have amazing expansions and the numbers could go up again, but that’s not how corporations work, all they care about it cutting costs and extracting more and more profits year over year until there’s nothing but skin and bones left.
By “bad team” you mean the most successful MMO of all time for 18 consecutive years?
Thing is, the whole reason the story, art, and content is where it is currently is BECAUSE they cleaned house and hired new people. Many of which barely have a resume to put forth.
That’s why the dracthyr look goofy, that’s why the tier sets look interchangable between classes.
If they kept hiring, it wouldn’t be anyone with talent. It’d be anyone who checks the right boxes.
Zappi boi for supreme War king of Azeroth!

By bad team as in we are the only team in the league for 18 years and we are losing
None of the team responsible for when WoW was the most successful mmo of all time have been here in a decade, outside of Chris Metzen who they brought back and hasn’t done anything yet.
By the way, Everquest said to tell you hi as they’re releasing another expansion and have been here 24 years, since years mean something.
Pretty sure Ion worked on Wrath.
I was at the 2019 Blizzcon and the primary zone design dev still there had been there since launch.
And likely many many other positions that people never heard of.
Of course not to mention all of the lawsuit related stuff was primarily the OG devs.
I have to strongly disagree with you.
Agreed. Replace Kotick with Ion
I agree. Bring the whole company down at once, not one game at a time.
Something people seem to omit is a lot of the OG were the problems lol
