Issues with WoW/ high end raiding from [A] POV

Ive had raided with 3 alliance guilds this xpac, and THIS…THIS is it everytime. I’m not a method player, clearly, just partial mythic because of THIS issue.

I am consistently top 3 DPS across all 3 of the guilds and I just wipe and wipe and wipe waiting for for the bottom half of the dps not to afk in mechanics. It gets to the point where I can literally mute comms, put on netflix and tunnel vision the fight and still perform among the best in the guild and then…I quit wow until the next tier. Like you said, completely burned out with a lasting feeling of defeat as it feels like no matter how good I do the mechanic or how high my DPS goes it is so utterly pointless.

I just can’t find the will to complete mythic if that means you need to join a new guild every 2 weeks because of the issue you quoted. Especially on alliance. I hate leaving a group of people I’ve been playing with for 4 months+ and joining a new one and being the initiate over and over sucks so I usually just quit for the next tier. Hell, this time the guild I joined couldn’t even make it to mythic and had the issue on heroic azhara so here I am, guess I’ll try next tier and see if anything will change.

I just don’t get it. Why post at all if you didn’t read the OP?

Somebody help me understand!

Bring the player not the class mentality comming home to roost. Its the “lets makes pve endgame an esport” mentality.

Part of the first gen mmorpg allure, wow vanilla being the biggest, was you could as a scrubby new player get into a raid and clear it, even if you fcked up.

You are right…what use to be called dps checks and retard checks are now personal skill failure toggles…everyone needs to have studied the fight and get it 100%.

Its stressful, it keeps people who could do it but havent tried from trying…especially since there really nothing in it for rewards.

All the edgame content competes with raids, including solo wq.

Also, from personal experience, im in that boat of people who…i just want to fly and it occupies 100% of my limited time playing. Grinding reps with wq and dalies instead of raiding dungeons or mythic plus. I still got maybe a month left…its burning me out.

Also as alliance on the most populated server for alliance…i have to lfr to raid on weekends…the only time i have the time to clear the rep grind with leftover time to do things i want to do.

Blizzard needs a reality check as to what their players want. Hopefully they see they need to approach 9.0 different.

Theres a lot about retail i like…but man, blizzard, has forgotten what this game is about…and i hope they realize it.

This is one distinct possibility or perhaps the retire the game and start with something new?

With classic I’m sure the dev’s are taking notes.

Wow had exceeded its life expectancy.

Do not hide the topic of your topic. Your title is ambiguous, and there’s no clear hint in the first few lines of text (among your wall of text) whereby I can decipher what this topic is about.

Could you please edit your title to reflect what the heck this topic pertains to?

This may just be the reason I kind of stopped caring about raiding.

I used to be all about at least trying the hard modes. While we usually hit a wall, it was still fun pushing that little bit further and seeing what we could do.

Now, Mythic raiding feels (to me) so brutally punishing, that a single small mistake can make or break an entire fight, I don’t find it all that fun. I know some get intense joy out of having to utterly perfect mechanics to succeed, but I just find it sort of tiring.

It’s hard to have a fight with too much leeway in a game like this, however, so I can kind of sympathize with Blizzard. Give people too much room to move, and they can cheese the mechanics entirely.

Dude. When someone creates a long-written topic or any topic really, the title is there to briefly reflect the thought contained in the topic. I am not going to read an essay having no idea what it’s about. It’s ridiculous.

Just edit the title to mean something instead of a totally ambiguous and empty title. Or add a ‘tl, dr’ at the top. I’m not being whatever a “pretend smartass” is. I’m being honest and blunt. It’s as though he intentionally hid the true concept behind the topic.

‘How did it get to this?’ How did what get to where? And then to add insult to injury the topic opens with him telling us about him! Jeez… Yeah I’m not gonna bother reading it (I will bother criticizing it, though).

Reasonable and fixed. Ty.

Thank you kindly.

Then why are you here? You had a choice to smell the flowers and decide for yourself if they were your type or not.

What a good OP

I wasn’t given flowers to smell. Now I have and am going to read this man’s topic.

I believe people should have the ability to decide for themselves if they can spend time reading a post or if they just want to skim over or plain decide that they aren’t going to waste their time.

If they can’t do something as simple as that, they aren’t the audience to read anything.

I think you are confused. My point is there was no description or allusion to the topic of the topic. It is rude to expect anyone to read what you’ve written (especially a long post) with totally no suggestion as to the topic.

Also the OP agreed. What are you on about?

I should ask you the same thing: What are you on about?

You pretty much replied to my post which was about people who were making low effort posts trying to dumb down the post.

I didn’t think your reply to my post was low effort. You don’t even belong in that group. You belong in the constructive criticism portion where you give meaningful feedback.

So what gives? You said you don’t have the time to read an essay without knowing what it is and I just replied in that context wondering why you even took notice of my post.

That’s the thing. I didn’t say I didn’t have the time to read an essay. I was and am only saying said essay should be given a proper title, which it now has. And like I said, I’ll now read it.
