Changing my original topic to focus on loading the app.
If you cannot remove discord from your startup routines that is not controlled through taskmanager nor Discord itself. Look into “task scheduler” It is probably related to a update.exe as part of an OS in the OEM install. In my case it was ACER manager.
lol anyone can take a photo of your face anytime you go outside if your worried about your face being stolen I dont think you should be going outside ever… and the only ones with issues not wanting to scan there face should be looked into anyway
also wont effect me as i dont use discord for adult content and spam/junk lol so wont effect me anyway, also made my account years ago so my account will be flagged as Adult as soon as it goes effective so wont effect me either
Also sooner or later everything on the internet will require this so i guess sooner or later you wont be on the internet anymore
when your account was made lol like they said…i guess people dont read the discord info it stats…like it stats ID or FACE scan and people are freaking out saying im not scanning my ID..well good thing you dont have to scan your ID
I don’t really have any loyalty to Discord. I’ll use whatever. At the end of the day I don’t do NSFW stuff on Discord so it will more than likely never come up for me. Also I don’t join servers outside of friend group ones or if I happen to be in a guilds server, but I’m not like a power user of Discord.
Because the people I’ve talked to in Australia and the UK where this already went live didn’t even know it was a thing. They’re either just sitting at “unverified” where it affects nothing they do in Discord, or they were automatically put into an age group and it doesn’t affect them either.
The only time you have to verify is if you were put into an incorrect age group or if you don’t want to stay “unverified.” The only thing that’ll affect is NSFW/mature rated servers.
This is NOT how it will work at all. You’ll only need verification IF:
Discord cannot verify your account by it’s age or account activity.
You do not have a credit card attached to the account.
You send texts or images to accounts that are not already on your friends list.
You attempt to access a channel that is flagged as 18+.
If Discord needs to verify beyond the age, activity, or credit card, you can choose to upload a face scan, a scan of your state issued ID/DL (doesn’t have to be RealID), or choose to not access the content you’re attempting.
If you choose to not verify your age, your access WILL NOT be revoked from channels that aren’t 18+. Rather, you’ll just not be able to access anything that is 18+.
That’s all there is. You won’t lose access to Discord. Most people don’t use Discord for naughty things, so the majority of users won’t even notice a difference.
Stop trying to scare people for no reason. If you don’t feel comfortable sending a selfie or ID scan, which is perfectly acceptable and a reasonable action, don’t do it.
anything and everything you use can have your info leaked at any time of day people just need to stop living in fear if they are truly that afraid of info leaking its best to delete everything of yours and live in a cave no devices ever and no internet
Well, they aren’t getting my information if I don’t want to give it to them. It’s easy enough to make up fake information. It’s not like I’m going to give them my money, lol. Blizzard is fine because I’ve never had an issue. They’ve refunded me well past when they shouldn’t have. Their CS is absolutely terrible outside of payment issues, but I’m talking in circles. If Discord won’t let me use it to talk to my best friend unless I give them my biometrics then I will swap to something else. Simple as that.
and this is happening because the feds took over discord back when that guy was caught sharing battleplan maps of ukraine. Next logical step is they want your real name and ID too.
