I get it, yadda yadda you’re so good, we’re so bad, heroics are sooo easy, we should cry more and let you gatekeep because youre so so skilled etc etc.
Now that that’s out of the way, can we please change heroics to their nerfed state? It was fun, hell I ENJOYED heroics being hard, it was challenging and you had so many heroic groups going that my mage has almost 200 badges just stockpiled. But, with how Kara is a complete joke compared to Heroics there are barely any Heroic groups running anymore and most people even in my own guild have decided to not even do heroics on their alts/mains anymore because its not worth the hassle when they can just do the nerfed raids for gear instead. I mean the #1 strat for heroics atm is just bringing a shadow priest to bypass trash with mind soothe because the trash is the hardest part of heroics by far while the bosses are a cakewalk.
I sat in queue as a semi-geared 1k+ dps ST warlock for every heroic yesterday and tuesday and didn’t get a single invite, I only saw a handful of heroic groups even form in the LFG and they were filled faster than I could whisper. I even know 2 tanks I pugged with while leveling and both of them have said the same thing, that kara/gruul etc is far easier than heroics so they’re not even going to try.

heroics aren’t even hard, just tedious
bringing 2-3 CC classes and CCing every single pull so you only fight 1 mob isn’t difficult, just tedious
kiting things in a blizzard/ice trap because it does so much damage that it 2shots the tank isn’t difficult, just tedious
inb4 the usual accusation of “you just want to mindlessly aoe everything down” because apparently there’s no middle ground between “trash mobs 2shot tank” and “mindless aoe faceroll”

They only get easier with Kara gear, so there is no reason to nerf.

Not really because all tanks still get completely clapped even with full raid gear so you are still limited to the pull one pack, kill one mob at a time snoozefest

Is there a logical reason for why heroics are pre nerf but the raid is post nerf?

Maybe not logical, but I’m pretty sure there is a real reason.
Because they planned on just being lazy and just releasing everything in the 2.4.3 state…well that’s not really a guess that’s literally what they said.
Then players complained that we were getting post nerf and they were already too deep with bringing TBC out to change the raids and didn’t want to have to test all the different abilities in the raid etc. So instead all they did was just turning up the dial on heroic mobs to make the pre-nerfers happy and there isn’t really any need for testing heroics because almost all of the changes were just simple damage/hp values.
But if they nerfed raids based off complaints why wouldn’t they nerf heroics based off complaints?
They didn’t nerf raids based on complaints their original plan was just to release the raids already nerfed. Our first news of tbc was that the raids were going to be nerfed.
No one can gatekeep you except you.
You have access to all the same content as everyone else.

I agree they should. I have no idea. Probably because they aren’t even going to look at TBC again until closer to P2, they must be too busy making sure everyones houses are getting the correct cute little plushies put in them.
Honestly I think they just need to nerf heroics and just have everything post nerf like their original plan.

Yeah I also agree with that. I thought they should have done it in 2021 too. OG tbc lasted like 2 years, now we MIGHT get 1. Just give one more piece, or one more tier piece and it’s all good.
Not that it really matters to me too much because most my BiS is from other sources, but I have done kara every single week so far and haven’t gotten a single piece lol. Not even from losing rolls but just because nothing dropped.

I don’t think I’ll ever take anyone seriously who unironically complains about “gatekeeping” when the gate keeping in question is “Play like a human and not a bot”

The gate keeping is find friends to play with that still need heroics or are willing to help. Or play a desirable class like mage, heals, or tank.
If youre pugging as a dps war, why would anyone ever inv you over a class that can cc?
