The ilevel requirement stated is 600. I am at 624. He eats my pet in 1.5 seconds. He then 2 shots me with unavoidable melee, even when I avoid all the avoidable things. I tried suggestions of tanking it and turning growl off, which does nothing aside from me dying 1.5 seconds later than I would otherwise.
I also was told to MD to Brann, which seems to be summarily ignored as he makes a b-line to me instantly anyway.
Something has to be seriously broken. Like… can you just drop your obsession w/ scaling and go back to hard values? There is no real progression if everything progresses around you. This is the antithesis of an RPG.
I think they (either intentionally or unintentionally) changed Zek’vir for season 2 so the fight is always “Zek’vir??”. He was pretty easy at Zek’vir? before and significantly harder on Zek’vir??, but now both fights seem to use the “??” mechanics. I have several alts with the quest to defeat him, but there’s no way I’m going to learn the harder fight for each class. If you really want to do it, I highly recommend this guide: Let Me Solo Him (Zekvir Hard Mode) Shadow Priest Guide
Both Zekky and Underpin kill warlock and hunter pets intentionally precisely so you can’t cheese them. Dealing with their autos is part of the fight.
You are meant to use healing Brann and ration the potions to keep the HOT up as well as get the burst heal when needed while you do the various mechanics.
Turn taunt off and for hunters initially misdirect to Brann (he’s a big boy and can take it).

I wish this worked, but the reality is that with Growl off and my pets set to passive, they get one-shot at random throughout the encounter just like they did with Zekvir on ?? difficulty. Eventually I just got lucky. Feels bad that they still haven’t found a way to make this actually viable for BM the way our class is intended to be played as designed by Blizzard.
