Is WW dps rotation ‘easy’ autopilot mode?

Going to be blunt… I like an idiot proof crazy easy brainless rotation. Ie …BFA DH. The mechanics of WW do seem fun, with interesting visuals.

I’m interested in it, but I prize easy dps rotations above all else. I like to do a M+, watch a YouTube/Netflix video, and eat a grilled cheese sandwich at the same time and not have my dps numbers suffer.

Would I be unhappy chosing WW monk with this in mind???

Some people are gonna say yes. Most people are gonna say no. Just letting you know ahead of time.

IMHO, prolly not. There’s a fair amount of things to keep tabs on as WW.

there are a lot more buttons to use and you have to work a lot harder to get the same dps as a DH. its fun but def not easy. good gameplay and skill aren’t rewarded as much DPS wise.

It hardly is for me. Have to constantly look at cooldown order, 2 resources and juggle exploiting our mastery to achieve max damage.

Ret, fury warrior, frost dk are probably the easiest.

min maxing anything is going to be challenging, but these three are ‘click the lit up button’ specs. Bonus points if it is lit up AND glowing.

I’m currently using a pretty easy sustained damage rotation, at least until SL drops. It’s working well enough. I figure they’re still making changes.

Its not hard but it could use more. I’d like to see the class get a bleed to apply at some point in the future.

Its not that bad, but there’s better melees if thats what youre after

With the state of WW monk this should be the least of any ones concerns. Let them actually tune WW then we can find other things to complain about…

No, it’s not.

Yes, you would be.

Monk is probably the most opposite to this that you can get.

It’s not that it’s a hard rotation but it does require a lot of focus. You really got to pay attention and is not as relaxed or forgiving as other specs

So I boosted a Monk in Legion and I was very intimidated with the rotation, it isn’t something that you can pick up and go so I didn’t play my Monk at all in Legion

Then in BFA I took the time and a day or so to learn how the mastery works and IMHO WW is the most fun class to play in the game…by a large margin

But that was my experience, yours could be different

Honestly I never have to focus on my rotation, so more time to yell at the dummies standing in fire, while I beat them in dps lol

Yeah, this. I am currently also Enjoying Warlock, primarily because most Specs feel chaotic, and unfocused or very RNG “hit the light up thing GO GO” heavy. It makes for an annoying mess of a playstyle.

WW Monk however not only doesn’t have all of that, but has a very fun mini game inside of it. Amazing mobility, great defensives, awesome looking animations, tons of fun interactions, an actual combo system with the 50 Talent point that compliments that combo chaining mini mastery mini game and… it just feels like whoever worked on it hit it spot on. I LOVE the feel of it.

I just dont know if I want to dedicate to a dead end. Ive done it so many times back when Moonkin wasn’t wanted and it always feels so bad… and youre just hoping for some buff but it never comes… and then you go “man why didn’t I pick Warlock”…

IDK what to do. Since I actually do enjoy Warlock also, as its very focused and has no reliance on any of the things I hate about most DPS, it doesn’t quite bring that same joy as WW mostly because of the mini game concept. Just having that in the back of my mind honestly is fun as hell to me, but, Warlock does seem to be one of the big swinging schlongs in this expansion and I dont imagine that is going to change much as it generally hasn’t since BC.

Yay!

Yea, Monk DPS is less about following a prescribed rotation and just giving into the ebb and flow of your abilities. It’s my favourite DPS spec in the game. The ToD change is a bummer, but if I didn’t to heal on my druid so much for SL, this would still be my main.

Are we consistently the bottom of the DPS meters? Sure… but we have a ton of fun being there!

Anytime someone says “ha im beating you in dps” I just tell them I’ll catch them outside with sliver.

really? dh?
based on the recent sl data for dh is this hilding true?

not sure about tuning right now, they are still balancing classes in SL, but by nature DH is easier to manage. In BFA, DH was more effective at pretty much everything. Also mind the multi-spec tax!
