Honestly? If we survived SL and WoD… then Midnight and housing will not only see a huge resurgence from the low of TWW, but may be the most people we’ve had since MoP honestly…
If what they say they go with, and this isn’t like every other time they’ve introduced a new system and then thrown it out, if housing is truly evergreen going forward… then it would be probably the first time since timewalking that content has not only made legacy content and old zones relevant, but would have content and retention potential past its own introduced expansion AND in content lulls like we always see late in seasons.
Even if you DON’T RP or want housing itself, you inevitably like something housing will be attached to as content that’ll drop furniture that folks ordinarily wouldn’t do or stopped doing in specific places long ago like zone specific raids and dungeons… that would see improvement from housing by extension.

If they made a new WoW, they basically borked themselves similar to what happened to EQ1 and 2. If no transfer of assets or progress occurs, they stand to lose a lot of WoW1 fans who will refuse to lose what they have earned.
If they do allow transfers of assets, they will inherit a lot of problems, some of which will be hard to list or predict. I can think of a few examples, not enough time played since people wont feel compelled to play content if they have enough assets, too much migration to WoW2 which might cause WoW1 to close and risk losing players who cant or wont change to the new game, being forced to transfer legacy systems they may not want to migrate like maybe flying. im sure there are other examples.

Every expansion has been the last one since about Cataclysm. It’s sort of like Sylvanas, kill her as many times as you like, all she ever does is say “Whatever” and keep on going.

It’s much more likely for WoW to go into maintenance mode than any sort of “WoW 2” idea people have been floating for far too long.
Given how long people have proven willing to play classic, I think the game could last for quite a long time in such a state, especially if they added BC and WotLK servers as well.

Yeah, this is it. There’s 2 more parts of TWW, one called midnight and I forgot what the last one was.
It’s a trilogy but essentially this is it.
Then they’ll probably make a WoW2 or w/e the number is, and start all over again.
With something. Idk what but remember, Azeroth is inside the planet we’re on and she’s going to be born.
When that happens, it’ll shatter the world our toons all live on and in.
So that’ll probably be the ending of part 3 of the trilogy we’re in.
Then the next one will be us starting all over in another setting or something, maybe somewhere else.
Just my 2 cents. I could be wrong as I don’t work there. We’ll see either way.

Retails value has arguably ran it course over the last few years.
Whether the future expansions going forward will be any good is up for debate but there’s still plenty of dimes to squeeze out of other versions of WoW.
So it hasn’t ran its course yet…but Blizzard are running out of options.

Retail might conclude and they could still squeeze another decade out of various era and seasonal servers.
Azeroth will be born and the end of the raid cinematic will say:
“To be continued… in Warcraft IV”
Then we get told there’s no new updates coming.

TWW is the end of having information to power play this game, and I already said I am done. When Midnight lands, I am out permanently, if I cannot see things like HPS or DPS or know what others are doing and this game remains complex, that just does not feel right at all.
