Is warlock really that bad?

Personally I play destro and it’s apparently the worst spec. I think I’m about 451 now more or less and I can pull over 100K without the new tier sets in the raid. Like with all classes it will take practice to get good at it. Read wowhead and follow the guides if you want to try. Good thing there are lots of fights in the new raid where you can just stand and dps lol.

If you do play a lock don’t be like me and learn two or even three specs so you can switch as needed. I only played destro since WOTK and never even tried others specs.

Unless you are shooting for cutting edge, you should be fine to finish the new raid on heroic in due time.

Affliction to me was always appealing for the feeling of just massively draining the enemies health with multiple dots and drains. It just felt cool to me. Legion was the pinnacle for me and how the spec played and felt.

The current version is a downgrade and I can’t play it.

Bring back malefic grasp

Warlocks do fine in everything. Dont let the haters get to you.

This is not true in my experience. My other classes can solo rare mobs with self healing quite effectively, and is quite easy, almost boring. Warlock takes a lot of effort and still dies in a lot of those fights.

In PvP, melee are king right now, and blizzard just buffed warriors again for next Tuesday. There is a reason why warlocks are the focus targets in every solo shuffle. It’s because they are the easiest kill, and are easy to shut down their DPS.

Every warlock I have come across takes in pvp, (granted I do bgs not rated) minutes to kill and my own lock can solo 8 mil+ health bosses with ilvl of 445 (demo) without even going below half, and that’s only because I have to heal my demon, otherwise my barrier would absorb.
You sure they aren’t focused first BECAUSE they are OP?

BGs are not like rated arena or solo shuffle. I have no problems in BGs.

I’m not saying its impossible. I’m saying its far more difficult than that other classes who don’t hurt their DPS, because they self heal while they are doing it. With Lock, you have to constantly heal your pet which still sometimes die, and it’s a big DPS loss, so the fights go on far longer than they need to.

Name me another pet class that has to channel to heal their pet?

Also, warlocks don’t have an interrupt on short CD like other classes, so if the rare mob has a heal that it does alot that requires interrupt, eventually you fall behind and have to flee.

Then anything is fine.
Except maybe healers, but even then you can get by.

To be fair, I don’t see it as a problem personally because I have the perseverance to see it through, my mentality is as long as I can outlast it, I’ll kill it.
I mean, at like 430 ilvl on this guy here I solo’d Fryakk’s(?) disciple. Took me like an hour, but I did it.

well said good sir
