Is Vol'jin the last well-received Horde character?

Horde cooperating with Alliance as equals = good.
Horde begging the Alliance to save them = bad.

Well received? BfA has soured many players along partisan lines.

I never liked Zekhan much. People were raving about Zappyboi, and I was like “eh”. Then he was announced as an Anduin sycophant, and I went from “eh” to “bleh”.

Lorash seems to be
at least his attitude is consistent. He was a Blood Elf. Now he is Undead, and angry as ever. Even Alliance and Sourpuss fans seem to understand his perspective. Maybe we haven’t seen enough of him as an Undead to judge. I hear he is in the Warfront, but not doing much.

Thalyssra seems naive and dunderheaded. Mayla seems ditzy, as if she swooned for Baine at a party and lost her mind. Sira and Delaryn are loathed by Alliance players, and Horde players dont seem thrilled with them. Perhaps Blizzard thought Horde players wanted a “Dark Warden” theme? Idk. The characters aren’t exactly breakout popular amongst the Horde.

Idk if Bwonsamdi counts? He is a new in-game character for BfA, and he is aligned with Talanji and the Horde after she agrees to partner with the Horde.

Before he grants her his blessing to rule Zandalar, he offers to end their link if she will bring him the Warchief’s head. She declined, so he gave her his blessing, and she rules Zandalar. She goes on to partner with the Horde. I think that brings her Loa friends too, and Rastakhan placed Bwonsandi above the rest.

He did fight on Rastakhan’s behalf against the Alliance - if only just for show and not with his full power - but he does fight the Alliance. He is currently aligned with the Kingdom of Zandalar. So I see him as a “new Horde character”, in that he recently became one. I see Bwonsamdi being aligned with the Horde much in the same way as Varimathras was.

It is a stretch to consider him a Horde character, I admit. But I am stretching to think of recently added Horde characters that are well received.

I like Geyarah more everytime she says something. However, Idk how well received she is. I see more jokes about her being a gender-bending Thralla than actual lore discussion on her character.

Oh, i see your point.

Well to be fair, we didn’t so much ask the Alliance to save us, we just let them help fight Garrosh because they wanted to.

She would look at that infamous dialogue regarding Vol’ jin literally begging to the Alliance PC to pl0x, pl0x help him with resources.

That was awful but current narrative us worse cause now we don’t even have Vol’jin.

I’m a bit torn on BFA.

Kul’tiras and Zandalar I like. But this whole faction war thing
maybe it could have worked if it had differentiated itself from MOP more.

A relatively new and controvertial warchief is in control.

Said warchief wants to secure the horde’s future and starts a war to do so.

Said attempt at a swift and decisive victory destroys an alliance city and ends up as a rallying cry for the Alliance.

Warchief’s actions start to sew dissent within the horde.

I just really hope this is the faction war’s last hurrah, and from 9.0 forward we only have Vanila like border skirmishes but no more big focus on the war. I know it’s how the franchise started but horde vs alliance to me is one of the least interesting parts of the lore. The franchise has much more to offer from WC 3 onward.
