Is twisting corridors supposed to be soloed?

I do almost everything Torghast related solo. Twisting corridors only gives rewards for every other layer though. So 2, 4, 6, and 8. 1, 3, 5 and 7 give nothing. It’s been that way since launch.

You can do it alone without a problem. It’s fine.

yes it’s very soloable. You need to build your character to be able to kill the end boss and not just what’s infront of you

I finally managed to clear layer 6 but layer 7 just isn’t doable on mage. Not the way I play at least.

Tbh I think you’re better off going for one of the recolors of the mount from the maw—even the slow af to obtain stygia one. Twisting Corridors is just an unpleasant experience…

I’ve cleared it, and wouldn’t do it again given the chance. There is not a single layer that I didn’t get bored of before finishing. Then again, it was something to do during a content lull, and here we are again.

try this maybe?

Man grinding that out over 16 hours as prot warrior was something else. It was fun though being able to spam execute all day long.

Twisting corridors was meant for the mount that can mount in maw, and they removed that part anyways, so rewards are pretty garbage.

The trick to twisting corridors is this

  1. Come in and out until you get upper reaches (or was it fractured chambers? One where the torment was someone spawning if you’re not in combat)so you can use ravenous anima cell for the scooper (plus easiest)
  2. read up on preferred powers for your class. There’s a preferred build
  3. rush the healing anima power where attacks can heal you. I think bloodgorged something.
  4. you want to pad your HP and pick tons of white powers that increase your damage.
  5. it’s so full of RNG it’s stupid, so don’t feel bad. My final TC i had such good RNG from rare drops and upper reaches/fractured chambers (again forgot which) being only corridor that i slept through it. 30 sec CD mega buffed convokes with over 200k hp or so. Other run i barely got any HP powers and struggled with 70k HP.

There you go, easy twisting corridor. See you in 8 hours when you beat it.

Thank you for the helpful tips. And everybody else too!

Depends on spec. Priest for example I think is super easy for disc and spriest. Idk about others. Lock is another ridiculous one

The good news is next expac will not have raids or dungeons but focus exclusively on Torghast style content. The players have voted and the fun is coming!

It absolutely can be solo’d, as I did all of mine. Most of mine that failed, failed pretty early. It was rare that I got a final boss I couldn’t beat. There have been some that I did not beat the first time, but I managed to get them down in however many tries I had.

You absolutely have to worry about HP. Later on there’s spells that are unavoidable that will crush you. There’s a power that gains you 15% power but costs 5% stamina per floor. That one is a losing proposition. You can’t out DPS being one shot.

This is a yummy power, but not essential I’ve managed to lose mine on the 17th floor and still prevail.

I had a lot of fun in TC.

I’m normally a Destro Warlock, but spec’d Demo for TC. And, minds, that’s all I did – change spec. No gear changes, run what I brung.

Implosion makes me giggle.

DKs can have a hard time of it I hear.

Not essential, but when combined with three pact of thickness early, every floor through about 12 or so is pretty trivial as long as you’re careful. Having a huge army of Imps and buffed Tyrants is also something to behold. Many may disagree with me here, but Venthyr is actually strongest for Warlocks in Torghast if you go the Tyrant power build because there’s a power where using your class ability also summons a Tyrant, and that means that if you have powers where summoning 1 = summoning 6 then multiply that by 2. Of course, the higher the layer, the more you want to stack these mega powers.

I’ve taken one friend in particular through TC a few times on this character, and he always hates it because after floor 6 or so, he has nothing to do. My demon and I can take out the whole floor in a matter of minutes. But still, the highest he’s done with me is a 6…so he hasn’t even seen a fraction of my power (insert evil villain cackle).

Oh absolutely, it’s a VERY nice power. You do just trash the place.

Though, also, as Destro, it’s quite fun when you have, like, 5 buffed Infernals giving the mobs a hot stone massage.

Just saying if you happen to lose it, even late in the run, it’s not game over. There’s a lot of power available, and it’s not all in that single ability.

For me, the single most powerful thing in TC was getting the Rat mount. TC always took me forever. 2-3 hours each run. Getting the rat mount (tossing the red orb thing at one of the rats after the first broker) made the run so much better. But my warlock didn’t have any speed buffs.

I tried it out in blood spec and it turned out easier than the first layer! The change of spec and also grabbing those HP level ups made a big difference.

alternatively, just do a little pre-planning.

you know they’ll hit harder and harder so buy the +15% stam items.
you know some abilities will become permanent so dont get powerups that let you ‘cast stuff as if said ability was up’. since the ability TRULY WILL be up all the time by the end.

and then there’s the occasional “i didn’t build right”. either because of RNG or of your choices. I only lost two layers (4 and 5) and in both cases I reached the upper floors. 16-17 and my stam was too low so I bowed out.

it was an enjoyable experience, and the power i had by the end was outrageous.

Greetings! I’ve had trouble doing it solo myself. I’d be glad to help with BM Hunter or Feral Druid. I’m quarantined for the next several days so hit me up if you want to give it a shot skilldren#1587

For me twisting corridors and Torghast in general is simply based on anima drops. If I’m lucky and get the certain anima powers I will be able to compete it, or I’m unlucky and I will struggle to point where I just heart out.

Someone said it’s easier for some classes and specs by a huge margin. For me as SV hunter and disc priest is easy and as mage and this rogue is little bit harder. As well make sure to upgrade your Torghast tower talents. It will make it easier as well.

No matter what you do its RNG based. You can get best powers at the get go and simply steam roll it, or you will be soaked with bad powers.

Way back when I did layer 8 solo, I got that one power that makes it so no single hit can take more than 1/4th of your health. Combined with all the healing I had at that point, it made it so that slow hitting monsters, like the bosses, had an almost impossible time killing me.

As others have said, it’s mainly down to RNG of powers. If you don’t get something that will either let you kill things in one shot, or let you take enough damage that you’re not insta-gibbed, you won’t be able to finish it without a whole lot of problems, if at all.

I solo’d it. A long time ago now. It’s not bad. Actually, doing the upper few floors was a blast because you accumulate so many crazy powers you just totally wreck everything. Happy I did it.

The biggest reward there was the mount that you could use in the Maw. Now that you can use any of them, the only point to it is if you somehow want to do the maw introduction again.

With that said, Twisting Corridors solo depends a lot on classes and gear. But it can indded be soloed. But as with everything else that can be done solo or group, group is generally easier.

If you have alts, I suggest a brewmaster monk with necrolord. Plenty of OP strats you can do, like No CD Touch of Death, Corrosive Dosage stacking, or my personal best, Bone Broth…
