Love it or hate it, no mmo can kill wow. Only wow can ever kill wow. Nostalgia > pretty grafficks/half-assed story lines.

That is what I believe Palea will do, as well. It is an MMO, but it will just draw a different crowd.
What kills FF14 for me is the story, I find no NPC and the story as a whole completely uninteresting compare to the rich and great story that is WoW ( and yes, that’s not ironic and I completely agree that shadowlands is an aberration but I choose to ignore Shadowlands and rather remember WOTLK or Legion

Yeah and you’ll need to stop with that. The problem has become less about the games and more of the MMO community who keep perpetuating the same nonsense.
What kills FF14 for me is the first 60 levels and everyone swearing that the game isn’t that bad if you just suffer through that. If I can’t even make it through the intro to your game I’m not going to stick around.
Also the ridiculously long cut scenes.
It’s really frustrating because the new island content looks fun…but I’m not going to suffer through the leveling to get there.

Someones when I look at the map of Wow I think about experiences I had at a location back in the day :] I went to RFD (Razorfen Downs) yesterday and my first thought was being on a pvp server and people ganking lowbies at the Thousand Needles elevator. Who remembers that elevator? Who died at that elevator?
No game, no matter how good is going to come with nearly 20 years of memories.

Yes, it’s the next WoW killer. And by the next WoW killer I mean the next MMO that won’t actually kill WoW because at the end of the day the only MMO that will actually kill WoW is WoW itself.

no, I think the only game that may dethrone WoW is the Riot game, considering League of Legends is huge and makes tooooons of Esport money. So you’ll know the PvP will be toptier. Plus the Koreans will love it.
I gave up on caring or purchasing any MMO after New World. Wasting my time and money.

IIRC actual copied assets have been found in Tower, it’s so blatant lol.
WoW pretty much killed itself, even with a new expansion coming, ive never seen this least amount of excitement for an expansion.
WoW will be running for years to come but its a shell of its former glory and its not going to improve. There just too much competition out here now and WoW is just old.
An interesting thought is that we will probably never see another game achieve WoW’s level of success in our lifetime.
Even as an 18 year old game it is still one of the top games in its genre and still generates a surprising amount of revenue. And of course, there is the numerous performance records that it has set over the last 18 years.
Much like how I haven’t heard about Riot’s MMO, I haven’t heard of it until now because someone brought up here before Youtube bothered to recommend it to me. A good idea that it won’t be a WoW Killer, much like many have before claimed to be…
No mmo or “streamer” can affect the popularity of WoW. WoW is much greater than that. Honestly, nostalgia in general is greater than all that.
