Is this not allowed or was this guy just mad?

Harassing would be preventing from completing it entirely, first example coming to mind is back in MoP a whole group of alliance players prevented horde members from advancing onto the Isle of Thunder the first day it came out by camping the initial starting boat for hours.

This is not that, just one player killing the other faction.

It is a real thing. You can be banned for griefing in pvp. What defines “griefing” varies, but it can still result in a suspension.

lol, you won’t be banned, it just made someone really mad

edit: if you all just read his post, it’s not like he’s camping them over and over from what he described… just a simple HK

heh…yeah…blizzard both here and in game loves their vague ‘catch alls’ to suspend someone with.
Good thing there is an exhaustive list somewhere to let us all know exactly where the lines are so we dont inadvertently do something ‘bannable’.
Oh wait…thats right…there isnt an exhaustive list.
They prefer to keep us guessing

one would think that corpse camping would definitely be defined as ‘griefing’.
Somehow I doubt that it is.
Well, unless you have a GM buddy.

Sounds like someone was just salty.

Reminds me a lot of sniping from the Duskwood roof back in the day… I do remember hearing about GMs not taking kindly to it, but who knows! Good luck!

Yeah that was my big thing. I’ve also heard things about GMs not really liking these hard to reach spots. But most people say it’s fine, I figured guy was just salty but then again I haven’t read the terms so others might know the more technical details better than i do.

Pretty sure then that would include getting on top of the opposing factions assault quest part of the airship then, despite how fun that is. Because I don’t think its intended you can get on your own airship for the faction assault, at least not that I’m aware of.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with world pvp. You should be able to use your ability to the maximum of what you can do with it.

If the horde were able to attack you, then it’s fine. If they weren’t able to touch you, then it is an exploit, and Blizz should look into it.

Ranged could barely reach me. Melee could not. I played on Marksman hunter so I could shoot farther than the average ranged.

Do plebes still put ketchup on french fries?

Malt vinegar is the only way to go.

They couldn’t reach you from where they were… but if they took a glider as you did they could land on the same spot on the boat rail… therefore it doesn’t seem to me that you are using an exploit.

I was never banned for engaging Alliance in Wintergrasp after the battle ended. A friend and I both played affliction warlocks back then, we’d dot everyone in sight up then use our teleport abilities to get back on top of the walls. They wouldn’t be able to fly up to us because of being in combat and if they did manage to make it up there our dots had them mostly dead.

Is it against the rules? No.
Is it being a jerk? Yes.
Is it 100% hilarious? Absolutely.

It almost reminds me of vanilla when Alliance priests would cast mind control on Horde players queuing up for AV in Hillsbrad (you had to queue for battlegrounds back then by actually running to their entrance portals). As soon as the MC hit the Horde players would be attacked by the high level guard NPCS and killed.

Sometimes you just gotta shake it off and laugh when someone gets ya like that. Unfortunately, not everyone does. Laugh anyway!

Anything that originated for fish & chips is a hard No.

Really appreciate the help! Again was just making sure haha, last thing I’d want is to get suspended for enjoying Warmode.

So yes, it’s frowned upon and could get you in problems if you did it for extended periods of time but eh, just try to not get much reputation from doing that.

Long ago, rooftop camping definitely could get you hit “with a loss of game time” according to at least one Blue poster at the time. (see below) I have no idea if Blizzard would would consider the use of a glider to get into such a spot a violation or not.

Allow me to further clarify with a scenario! =D

Let’s say a player is in a PvP situation in the opposing faction’s city, and then let us further assume that the player’s character has been placed on top of specific piece of geometry, where the guards to not ‘recognize’ the player - however this same player is able to freely make attacks against the opposing faction without receiving proper attention from the city guards. This would be a violation of the policy I mention in my above post, and could very well result in loss of game time.

Please note that similar scenarios may also result in disciplinary actions - as it is not playing inline with the design and mechanics of the World of Warcraft; thus creating an unfair advantage over other players.|

Dude you’re fine! That’s perfectly allowed! I do that all the time during the Kul’Tiras Incursions! I glide to the Horde Airship that Alliance are supposed to destroy and knock them off and kill them with a friend or two.

They’re just salty!
