Is this a possible fix for Horde Queue times?

In my opinion, the changes that they did make to Classic have been some of the worst ones. Like layering. If layering was never a thing, than the masses on Horde side would’ve known 100% about the population problems, and with little investment at that point, might have made the decision to reroll on another server and/or faction.

Like my server, Fairbanks. If there was no layering, all of the horde would have known immediately when they got to that quest cave right outside Orgrimmar (the one with the Burning Blade warlocks or w/e) and they saw 8000 other hordies trying to kill the quest mobs, they would’ve known the problems.

And they might have rerolled either Alliance, or on another lower-pop server.

Oh, sorry. I literally just moved to DeviateDelight like… today. I’ve been on Fairbanks since day 1.

And here is my druid, which is still on Fairbanks (just for credibility.)

Layering was needed so we didn’t have a retail situation of needing 100+ realms then 1/2 dying and needing sharding in the world.

Hey, I believe you. So you probably missed Horde on DD going through what Alliance did on Fairbanks… maybe to a much less extent because one has almost 10k players while the other has not even 5k.

This is off-topic to the OP, but I’ll explain why I had to transfer-- and why many players on both sides will be transferring before its over:

I came to Classic to relive some of the more old-school experiences to WoW. I’ve played WoW since late 2006, and have been a cutting-edge Mythic raider and above-average pvp’er for many many years in retail.

I don’t mind being the underdog, at least a little bit. Matter of fact, I (and my guild) came to relish it on Fairbanks. Our guild was somewhat even known to be the ‘Defenders of the Realm.’ We took on Horde whenever we saw them. We defended our flight points. We ganked the lowbie gankers in Badlands, STV, Redridge-- you name it.

But when p2 launched and we saw the literally hundreds of Horde that kept BRM on lockdown basically 24/7, we could see the writing on the walls. We could see that later, when Silithus is rolling and its time to grind rep and items to open the gates of AQ, there couldn’t possibly be enough Alliance to make a presence there and compete for resources.

And speaking of resources. There are exactly 4 zones that can spawn a Black Lotus. Each can spawn 1 lotus per hour, and it takes 1 black lotus for each alchemy flask

When we get to BWL we’ll want our tanks using flasks. When we get to AQ we’ll probably want everyone using flasks. When we get to Naxx we’ll definitely want every raider using flasks and full consumeables.

If every single possible lotus was collected, every single possible hour from now until then-- there still will not be nearly enough Lotus (and other resources) to supply the literally hundreds and hundreds of raid teams that are currently on Fairbanks.

The server is flat-out, too overpopulated. Too populated to supply all of the players, and all of the raid teams. Too populated (and too imbalanced) to get a real experience when it comes time to open the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj.

Too populated to give the real Classic experience that we have all come to hope for.

best solution is to re roll or go back to retail kek

Allow Horde fan cults to merc so they can sabotage Alliance battlegrounds cause they get teary eyed when Horde loses?

I hear you which is why I always said this is much worse on the more populated realms, which happens to be just a handful not all pvp realms. Ran out of likes for you :sob:

The only difference is alliance is just being quippy on the forums. But horde players were literally camping flight paths and players bodies for hours on end then being dbags on the forums about it. Honestly we’re telling them to reroll alliance to experience awesome ques and a great experience. a lot of horde were saying to just quit on forums and literally had macros to tell the alliance they were 5v1 camping to gO tO rEtAiL in game.

I stand with the easy solution either reroll or play retail. ALLY FTW BBY

Um reroll git gudder go back retail noob.

Did I do it right?

Actually don’t reroll to many complainers just do the retail one

there will be no mercing in classic to save them. i hope they enjoy their queues.

The only thing that can be done right now is the implementation of controlled one-way faction changes.

Nothing else can save Classic WoW but this feature.

This seems like an overly dramatic and myopic response. Most everyone seems happy with the current arrangement. Hordes gone back to camping FP’s and farming between Q times and by all accounts they are happy to do so. Alliance gets instant Q times. It’s a win win.

It would have only shifted their problem from one part of the game to another in both cases, and would have made the game for all players no better, most likely measurably worse.

Well, in the first case, if they re-rolled on a pve server they wouldn’t have to worry about wpvp except on their terms. In the second case, if anyone is bothered by queue times, they could go Alliance who have instant queues.

yea you dont have to queue many people are queuing equals longer queue time if you dont like it dont queue.

May I remind you that the reason they don’t reroll is that they want to play on a pvp server. If you want to continue to mischaracterise their argument and then scratch you head that’s your prerogative.

And if you don’t see how excacerbating faction imbalance is bad for the game then I don’t know what else to say.

I think Classic WoW is doing just fine, thanks. #NoChanges.

Clearly they don’t want to play on a pvp server though. You can still wpvp on pve realms, it’s just more organized.
