Allow players to run for Warchief! We will have a grueling legislature and a Congress that won’t solve any problems regarding the nagas behind the gates because the Darkspear party is busy trying to get their spears more sharp and the Forsaken party is trying to legislate more laws against Forsaken racism. Oh, and don’t forget the Mag’har party want more sanctions against the Mechagnomes because they’re trying to build robotic death machines
This.
Everything is about perception. Those who are serious about end game progression see the top teams are Horde so that’s where they go. The top teams see that the serious players are all Horde so they stay there to have a larger pool of players to draw from and it becomes a circle.
Sure they could give every Alliance race a 30% boost to output and everyone would jump to Alliance and you would have the same problem as now, just reversed.
A two faction system in a game like this can not be balanced. One side will always be seen as better and populations will skew that way.
Even if they removed the faction divide then the imbalance would just be shifted to races. The races that were deemed best for a class or role would take the forefront and other races would get left behind.
The only way to have balance is if everything is the same. And then you end up with an entirely different game.
Flavor and aesthetics. Let alliance classes have themes that are different than horde counterparts. Similar to totem looks, Alliance mages could have a stronger arcane intellect while Horde mages could have faster cast rates. Something that changes the way they’re played but still have them stand out. Blood elf Paladins having Seal of Blood was a very cool idea, they can definitely expand on it
You’ll never get even a semblance of balance when the game director is a Horde fanatic elitist jerk.
It’s like deciding to make some random streamer like Asmongold the game director.
Thankfully this won’t be happening.
That isn’t going to attract people to swap factions if their driving force is pushing content.
Players pushing content aren’t going to swap factions to push content for this.
It’s going to take a big incentive for players and guilds to swap back Alliance, the talent pool is just too big on Horde.
For the average player? (Which is like 70-80% of the playerbase btw) Nope.
For world 100 mythic raiders? Yes
Naturally the masses want to be on the side that’s “winning” even though it doesn’t affect them at all. Just look at the armories of most of the forum posters who complain about this. They have no personal mythic raid progression.
Haha I agree! That was one of the things I disagreed with I listed.
Well I see where you’re coming from but that’s not where my mind is! I’m talking a completely separate story line (that still fits the expansion obviously). To where the experience you have on alliance questing will be completely different for the horde. It’ll give players a reason to actually see what’s on the other side.
I believe as unpopular as it’s going to sound, getting rid of exclusivity has hurt the alliance more then ever. If you wanted to be a pally you had to be alliance, if you wanted to be shaman you had to be horde. If you wanted a raptor mount you had to be horde, if you wanted…a…horse… had to be alliance.
So I’m glad we actually got the bee mount for now lol. Maybe horde will get a wasp and they won’t care bout the alliance still x)
FINALLY MAKING THE ALLIANCE COOL AND NOT SOME PEACE LOVING PUSH OVERS!!! SO SICK OF BEING KNOCKED AROUND AND FORCED TO FOLLOW SOME PEACE LOVING KID!!! Look at me!!! I’m READY FOR WAR!!!
But nah anduin mmm wants that sweet peace. Which no one wants anyway! Besides like thrall and baine, Jaina kinda on the fence I guess. Won’t believe it till I Seee THE DETAILS. But I’m sure she’ll have some far distant cousin that gets ganked by a horde and revives her hatred for the horde.
Yeah min/maxers are going to ruin that covenant system for me @-@ “YOU’RE A WARRIOR AND YOU PICKED VAMPIRE CLAN ROFL YOU’RE MISSING LIKE 13K DPS”
Balancing racials would really help, but also giving our faction ONLY GEAR. Which won’t happen since devs like their RNG atm.
I believe this is true too. But I also believe if Blizzard tried to have much of anything more faction-exclusive they’d be met with a bunch of outrage from players who want to throw a temper tantrum about how something isn’t fair. I don’t think we’ll ever have much of anything that is faction-specific anymore due to the crying that goes on, sadly enough.
Well said!!!
glad I found someone who thinks the same! Maybe one day things will change! Also some more capital cities that are not CONGESTED! Gimmie that city of Suramar for my undead warlock! Gimmie UHHH THE HORSE BARN! For my human warrior
. I know it’s small but I love capitol cities!
Merging the factions or allowing it to be a choice one can change rather then permanently having races locked to one side.
When blizzard removes all the disadvantages from being the dominant faction and lets them keep all the advantages then yes they have contributed to the problem.
Merc mode in PvP really has to go. If the majority of people who PvP want to play horde then they should be waiting in queues for 30 plus minutes, there should be no cutting in front of the line.
Also Vulpera - they should never have been given to horde and/or made into a playable race.
Then the game will be dead to me and a lot of other players. I refuse to see a gnome in thunder bluff and I refuse to see a foresaken hanging out in stormwind.
It’s out of place and completely stupid for a story stand point. The faction split needs to stand and stand firm!
- Change all of the racials to non-combat
- Open a window of time for Horde players to have free faction changes to Alliance
When the developer spends over a decade dunking on a specific faction, and insist the faction split is integral to the foundation of a game, then it’s really no surprise when the dunked on faction begins drying up when there’s no real justification to continue playing them.
The Horde are inevitably always antagonists in the story. The Alliance gets punched in the face a few times, we score some victories, we beat the Horde. The Horde are then never called to account for their actions and behaviors. This cycle repeats every half decade or so.
Speaking as a Alliance Main since Vanilla…there’s nothing keeping the Alliance player base around. One unique Bee mount atop the endless reskinned and overpriced Horses and Gryphons, to say nothing of a bland and disinteresting Allied Race pool (Though that cuts both ways, faction-wise).
Our NPCs aren’t dynamic and have all the personality of a piece of wet cardboard. There’s zero conflict in the Alliance characters. Anduin’s literally been part of the game since Vanilla and he’s barely got a personality. Tyrande broke ranks with the Alliance (After being allowed to be schooled in warfare by a 40 year old man while herself being ten thousand years old), but she’s barely had a personality since the RTS so it’s not a major shake up. Velen seemingly lost his faith in Legion but that was back within 10 minutes. Mekkatorque got critically injured this expansion but…it’s Mekkatorque. Jania’s gone back to her pacifistic ways.
It’s BORING. And the questing experience isn’t much better. Yeah, nothing says “Fresh and Interesting” like an entire early questing zone given over to a severely dated CSI: Miami meme.
There’s just no compelling reason - gameplay or story-wise - to play Alliance. It’s the B Team Faction and it shows. That’s not to say the Alliance has uniformally worse content then the Horde, but take Uldir as a principle example. Uldir is built up throughout the entire BfA Questing experience for the Horde.
The Alliance doesn’t even get a whiff of it, even on a Warfront campaigns that take us to those zones. Uldir is a completely divorced experience from the Alliance’s perspective. It’s like Hordies running Deadmines back when. Yeah, it’s a dungeon and in the rotation, but the Horde runs that dungeon with zero investment towards it.
The Alliance has been a zero investment faction since Cataclysm. And I, like a lot of the player base for the Alliance, are just getting bored. Ion wasn’t lying when he said the Horde was there, waiting for Alliance players.
Where can I, as an alliance, play in merc mode? If I could join as horde with a chance of winning I’d gladly take the 30 minute queue.
All these dumb posts just saying alliance isn’t trying…
Try reading the thoughtful responses cataloging the imbalance for several expansions, devs dunking on alliance players etc and see why we already lost the good players to horde years ago.
This is blizzards responsibility to fix by acting like adults and making the alliance interesting and STOP giving us terrible AR. Some damn anti hero’s. And in is too good two shoes for anyone to care about.
Yeah, let people play the game cross-faction.
Again, I feel like in the interest of fairness, that does cut both ways across the factions. Outside the Vulpera, there’s zero Allied Race that couldn’t (and possibly shouldn’t) just be rolled into the Racial Customization Overhaul coming for Shadowlands.
But I do agree, our lackluster stable of ARs (Dark Iron Dwarf being the only one that was truly requested) certainly don’t help matters.
Agreed but keep in mind horde also got additional customization via maghar orc styles and straight back option.
That’s actually not a bad thing to bring up since Straight back Greenskins is just automatically given to the Horde (Much like the Golden Eyed Blood Elves), where the Alliance has to do the Darkshore quest-chain to unlock the black eye option for Night Elves.
So even just to get black eyes, the Alliance has to get a character to max level and then go through a very tedious quest chain. Where the Horde just get cosmetic improvements for free.
