Is there anything retail does better?

Besides raid design and flow of combat?

The economy in retail doesn’t matter at all

Professions don’t matter

Community outside your guild or group of friends might as well be faceless bald men (thanks sharding)

Difficulties in raids creates a disconnect of experience for players doing that content and waters down achievement

WPvP is completely and utterly dead and pointless

Classes are more similar to the point where most are interchangeable outside of 18+ keys that even less of a percent of the population does than did naxx in retail.

Gear doesn’t matter anymore, and your characters barely grows tangibly stronger.

I mean the list could go on forever

I don’t agree that retail’s combat flow is superior.

Whack-a-mole is not engaging gameplay.

It sucks. That what it does better.

Well, your neck slot is more important in Retail. I can’t think of anything else it does good, much less better.

I take that back. Retail is better at having an endgame for about every style of play. And it is better at class balance since they are all the same. However those two things make it a worse game.

“flow of combat”

meaning “the flow of the computer telling me what to do”

I hate it so much… Trying to play and its just holding your hand as to which button to push.

Much like how Star Wars became in the end!
And guild wars!
And Wow!
<.<
looks at the list
oh… crap… wow’s gonna die too.

Nothing matters in WoW anymore.

Professions dont make anything thats worth while, they make catch up gear.
economy? You get 10 drops of everything from 1 click and get ++++++ potions for making them. BAM. Destroyed the #1 gold maker of the entire game.

Multiple raid difficulties made it so everything was watered down so everybody could “see” the content instead of wanting to get better to join a guild to fight to be able to see and play through the content its just “AHAA! button.”

Wpvp AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH dont get me started on War Mode and the +30% bonus to the lower faction. Freaking SERIOUSLY dont ever mention BFA’s “warmode” as world pvp. Its an inbred neph-son with half a lower jaw.

Classes? We dont have classes anymore. We have play specs… There’s literally no reason to take any specific class to the table anymore. They’re all the same BUT blizzard cant balance them worth a god DAMN RED CENT

Gear? You mean world of titanforging and scrapping everything that doesnt and going weeks without the “RNG” signaling that, you too deserve loot and the same person in your farming runs that’s gotten bagfuls of gear you cant use because he’s a different armor class than you?

It’s a better collection simulator?

The UI, stuff like pet or mount panels are nice.

Raids and combat are garbage.

Visuals and base character customization are hands down far superior than Classic.

I think classic feels far better as a game though.

Well.

We cant really compare apples to oranges now can we?

Vanilla’s graphic’s were freaking TOP OF THE NOTCH when it was released. We’ve come so far in the last 15 years of technological development that if BFA still had Vanilla’s graphic’s it would be laughed at by every game imaginable XD

As far as gameplay goes and how thing stack up within the game and what makes things worth it instead of the constant let down that professions and combat have become Classic is so far superior over Battle for FreeGear its not even funny

Satisfies the sensitive egos of the ‘current’ gaming generation by offering inconsequential EZ-mode faceroll mechanics where any class can do everything.

Because - everyone is special!

Transmog System

At Vanilla, we used outfitter and had to carry all the gear with us, it was such a mess. Plus we lost our stats when using the RP gear. Especially if you were a competetive player, this was a big issue.

Loot System

Ninja looting at Vanilla was very easy, people came up with the weirdest reasons why they had need on an item, that wasn´t even their armor class. Hunters rolling for healer gear, because they could heal their pet, Paladins rolling on cloth, rogues on feral items… Worst were the ninjas that rolled on prof item, without actually having said profession. This happened a lot with alchemy and tailoring patterns, while the guy in question was a blacksmith and miner…

LFD

This is a bit tricky. In Vanilla we had a LFD that was server only, but it did not recognize roles. Therefore it never worked that well, I remember being with 3 Hunters at Uldaman…

On Live we now have crossrealm, with is terrible and kills any type of community feeling. What we need is an LFD server only, just like a BG server only system.

I haven’t played it, but… Guilty pleasure… I do love the pet collecting.

Not enough to be playing BfA, obviously, but I love it. Even in Vanilla, I had 4 or 5 pets in my bag at any time.

Probably the actual raid mechanics.

Flow of combat is not better in retail unless you prefer playing a RPG as a button smashing arcade fighting game.

Extract the money out of whales far more effectively than Classic.

exploring hidden areas on flying mount. That thing i love. Especially in older content, there’s so much hidden stuff.

Only today i found that on top of dalaran tower sits a bunch of sunreavers

The newer models are just too clean imo
