How much effort would it be for blizzard to have glyphs that modify colors of abilities?
He.
Did you make a male human paladin?
Probably not much effort but what would be the point? Paladins channel the Light, not something else.
Roll an Unholy DK and then identify as a Paladin. That should be a lot of fun, especially on an RP server. “Dude, why is your Consecration all red and bubbly?” “Dude, you know your mount is undead, right?” “Don’t rez me bro, I’ll wait for a Priest.”
Would be neat to have the red Tyrant look from HFC. Would be neat to see a variant like that accessible and it’s established already.
None of the playable Paladins are like whatever is in HFC (are you talking about the eredar Paladin?) The playable Paladin channels the Light.
if you can… wear a dress and run around with like a bone for a weapon~
100% guarenteed to look less paladin like but beware the other pallys who may call you a heretic and demand an inquisition
Yeah I was sorry for lack of clarity. Non playable currently but would be a neat avenue to explore in general for classes(not just paladins). Find ways to bring in slight color changes like green fire for more classes.
I just never understood the argument of “this one special NPC does a thing so the player should be able to do the thing too!” Like Anduin the Priest wearing plate and using a sword. They’re bosses… they do abnormal things
Race change to Tauren and turn off your armor.
For me, when I see one off npcs in game I think about if it’s a reasonable leap or not in my mind. For example, while I’d love to make an undead paladin in game and they are shown in game, but they are so far removed from the established universe rules(fundamental force breaking) I’d never expect it to happen and don’t really think it should.
However, seeing something like a tyrant in my mind is a journey as to how a righteous defender could become a zealot and then a tyrant. The scale of the action is going further down a path(much like a warlock becoming more and more corrupted and becoming so infused their fire goes to green fel).
As for class leaders doing/having unique rules. I’d definitely not expect anything they get to do ever be considered established for players. As cool as some of the skill mixes are they just get the pass in my mind.
If you don’t want the divine steed horsey, re-roll to Tauren pally. You’ll get a kodo
I love our Paladin mount.
To all those people saying “Just transmog to Warrior or DK armor”
That’s not helpful. I’m not asking about the clothes my character wears. Transmog has been in the game for years. I know how to transmog my gear. That’s not the issue.
The issue; as outlined in the original post; is I don’t like the flashy, sparkly glowy effects that Paladin spells have. That’s what I’m asking about changing to something slightly different so I don’t have to look at all the “Holy light” stuff while playing.
I know you’re trying to help, and I appreciate it, but simply suggesting I change my transmog isn’t helping at all.
Edit: A lot of other people are saying “Just roll a DK”. I don’t see how that solves anything? I want to play a Pally for the play style… If I wanted to play a DK, I would play a DK. They have two completely different play styles, so I don’t see how offering a suggestion to completely re-roll a class is helping the situation?
I’m also seeing people saying “Paladin are warriors of the light, and that’s it. changing it to something else doesn’t make sense”
I’m not asking to change it to something else. I’m asking to change the color of the spells. Monks do this with their green lightning. Warlocks do this with their fire spells. It’s not something that Blizz is shy about.
And before you say “But light is yellow” No… It’s not. Light is white. Light can be any color if you pass it through the right medium. Just look at a sunset… It’s red. The light that enters your eyes from the sky appears blue. Light can be any color.
Class fantasy of paladins is what makes the paladins. They don’t have many glyphs to really make them look different. It’s like with any spec, you kind of have to take it for what it’s worth. Warlocks have greenfire but still look warlocky and are boring… Mages have those awful shields (Arcane is nice)… sorry to say you can change the mog but the spells still will bring the light
The physical phenomenon of Light sure. But “the holy light” which is the power that paladins use is just golden.
This is one of the strangest questions I’ve seen.
If you’re a denizen of light, you’re most likely to blast your enemies with light power. Now I’ve never played a Paladin, but I’d assume that if you’d rather not blast your enemies with the will of God then maybe Paladin isn’t the correct class to play.
This line is going to keep me awake at night… Someone please decipher this mess…
You’re wanting features for a paladin that aren’t ingame. Ask Blizzard for them.
It’s not that I don’t want to look like a paladin myself. It’s just that I was born a bank toon that somehow morphed into a healer. So that’s what I look like.
